RYM RANT (2nd try)

BIG FUCK YOU TO SPACEHEY FOR NOT IMPLEMENTING AN AUTOSAVE FEATURE FUCKKKKKK!

I recently created a RYM account despite being extremely late to the party. It boggles my mind to read some of these rankings that feel so obviously like ragebait. In what world is Frank Ocean's 'Blonde' a 4 but Tyler's 'Igor' is a 5????? AND THEN GIVING 'CHET BAKER SINGS' A 3.5????  What even constitutes a "perfect " album? A 5/5? A big preface here is that music will always be subjective and at the end of the day this is just from my worldview. Do all the tracks on the album have to be perfect or can a few tracks carry the entire album to a perfect level? One review that really did irk me was a user who gave Sewerslvt's 'Draining Love Story' a 4 yet described it as "lacking substance and creative risks". Sewerslvt managed to create an ambient breakcore masterpiece that encapsulates the feeling of any individual drowning in angst. NO SUBSTANCE??? This thing is a fucked up and cold retelling of an individual who is lost in their own depravity! Perhaps it's because my life recently has felt like a depressing joke that leaves me laughing at myself. The lack of substance feels like it was purposely made to be a part of the album. Lacking creative risks? I don't quite know how to explain this one off but this was an album unlike any I've heard before in the breakcore genre. Jvne has a wonderful ability to mix isolation with the chaos of any sick and twisted person. Let me add to this that, the rising popularity of breakcore and liquid drum and bass has paved the way for fakes to stick a shitty pad on top of a horribly chopped amen break. Yet, Sewerslvt's albums have always stood out as original and stemming from the bottom of her heart.

This same user gave Machine Girl's 'Wlfgrl' a 2.5...... It's harder to defend this rating but I don't believe it to be a fair one. Given that this was made in 2014 and didn't quite gain traction till 2020-2021, speaks to how far ahead this was for its time. Anyways I think I'm all tuckered out for shitting on other people's opinions.  ♡＾▽＾♡♡＾▽＾♡♡＾▽＾♡♡＾▽＾♡♡＾▽＾♡♡＾▽＾♡♡＾▽＾♡♡＾▽＾♡
