> Drama/callout posts or ragebait on top blogs (or blogs in general)
spacehey's simple algorithm based on what ive seen: the more comments it has, the more it'll go to the top. the more kudos it gets, the quicker it'll go to the front page, but kudos dont boost it as quickly as comments.
Blogs get taken off the front "popular" page after being posted for 20 days, unless the blog is pinned by An, usually his own blogs for announcements or milestones.
for ragebait or drama you dont want to see, ignore it. dont even comment on it. click away.
this also applies to blogs that you dont agree with. if you dont like the things someone is saying in a blog or dont agree with their opinion, if you dont want to see it, its simple. just dont interact with it, and it wont move as quickly up the blogs page.
you can always just block the user too, as their blogs will not be visible to you anymore.
tying into that,
> your block list can never be too long, and you have the right to add ANYONE you want to it. period.
my block list is about 170 users long. shocking, right? :P
while some may think im just overly sensitive, spacehey is now a big place with over 1 million users. there are going to be a good chunk of those people who i dont agree with or who have opinions that may cause harm to me.
i dont want those people seeing and interacting with my blogs, profile, or activity. or, i have other reasons for blocking them that I deem valid.
while yes, they can always just log out and view your stuff that way, but like i said in part one in this blog, its fine to block others. i dont get why its so stigmatised on this site, as it's literally one of the most useful features on here.
dont like someone or their opinions and it irks you to see them online? block em.
dont want to get involved with someone who is constantly causing drama? block em.
there will always be nice users on here who share similar interests to you. find those people.
so if you cant stand someone to a point where you need to make a blog complaining about them, block them.
thats what i do at least :P
**also, dont feel down if you get blocked by others. ive been blocked by many ppl, believe it or not. do i care? a little bit, but at the end of the day, theyre allowed to block who they like. not everyone is going to like you and agree with you on this site, and you have to learn to accept that.
as you should irl, surround yourself with people who bring the best out of you.
> politics + religion
gonna say it again; said it in the first blog too. be careful interacting with political or religious blogs or posting your political/religious opinions and beliefs on here, especially in such times of conflict + political unrest/disagreement. a lot of users on here do not know how to debate in a courteous manner, and i mean both people who post the blogs and the people comment on them.
if you're going to be very pushy about your views and attack a group of people, expect a retaliation from them.
thats what you would instinctively do if your own views were attacked.
> immature or sensitive users
Tying into prior point, as much as i hate to say it, there are many younger or more sensitive users on this site. and honestly, i dont blame them for being that way.
if you hate sensitive people, block them as they come to you. it does no use in complaining, as youre going to only rile them up further and make them annoy you more.
for the many adults + older teens like me on this website, if you interact with younger users, be mindful that they may not know how to handle specific opinions or stances simply because they lack the maturity and experiences that you have.
ive interacted with a couple really immature users, but over time, they have learned their own lessons and are now chill to interact with. not every immature person will stay that way forever ya know.
we were all children at one point in our lives, so let the kids be. doesnt make you any cooler to hate on them.
**on the topic of sensitive users, if you even bothered to add them into your friends, either respect other people's boundaries or unadd them. you cant "fix" their sensitivity, and they may have other issues that affect their mentality that cause them to act that way.
not everyone is a "woke leftie snowflake". sensitivity doesnt necessarily correlate with your political views, religious beliefs, or subculture.
some people are just more sensitive than the average person, and you shouldnt be taking it upon yourself to "toughen them up" or "awaken them to reality". theyll learn on their own over time.
Q&A with a SpaceHey Moderator
Thank you to Koltin for answering these questions :D ik youre rly busy, so thanks for taking the time for dealing w my shenanigans + supporting me in making this blog.
DISCLAIMER!!!
(copy + pasted from the moderator who asked this to be removed; i am attempting to hopefully compromise.)
- "The responses reflect THIS SPECIFIC MOD'S personal opinions and do not fully represent the stance or practices of the moderation team as a whole. it's important to note that the moderation team works collectively, and decisions are made as a team rather than by individuals."
this is solely on here to share beneficial information to spacehey. if you are confused because of this, IM a moderator with further questions, not me. i am simply just compiling as many things as I can with the approval of moderators.
Q: what types of "nsfw" jokes classify as something you could ban someone for?
A: Use common sense. innuendos are okay.
Q: how much venting/talk about suicide/self harm could qualify for a ban?
A: Well thought out post are fine, maybe mentions suicidal and self harm or hints to it that's fine. if it's the ones obvious for attention could prompt a removal or ban.
gore/selfharm art is not allowed.
Then again some mods may have a different view on this.
Q: are layouts ever going to come back?
A: Dont actually know.
Q: how old should an account be to it not be considered worth reporting?
A: If they havent logged onto the site for at least 6-12 months.
There's no inactive account policy.
Q: How are false reports dealt with?
A: False reporting, Self reporting and blatantly trying to game the system is an instaban for spam or harrassment (depends)
If you want some comment/post that you made and you cant figure out how to delete it.
IM Mods with the link to the comment/post you made.
Don't report it.
Q: Are accounts retrievable after they have been banned?
A: Usually not, public ban reasons and temp bans are in the works.
Q: Does true crime romanticising qualify for a ban?
A: Yes. Especially if you have a killer has your avatar.
Q: Will you be banned, even to ask why you were banned, if you make new accounts (after being banned previously)?
A: Just to contact mods for questions is fine as long as you delete it afterwards.
Pointing out that you got banned will also get you banned..
Q: What does the "spam" part of the rules for account for? (ie. what classifies as "spam")
A: ban evading, seo (search engine optimisation), bulletin spam etc.
Q: How do you feel about your experience with dealing with the userbase of spacehey?
A: Pretty alright albeit it was dramatic in the beginning.
If anyone needs help with something just IM the mods.
> Just work on filling out reports better cause recently we had an uptick of reports with no proof that this happened. If you report someone with just "im message" doesn't help, we're not Facebook we can't just go: "Ah yes.. At 12:47 on February 1st: this user knowingly broke ___ rule."
> No, you wont get banned for offplaform, if it happened on discord report them to discord..
** solvalou sidenote: sorry for taking this section down; had some issues between 2 moderators. one of them said that this portion needed to be taken down, whereas another said it was okay to keep it up and insisted that i add it back, so i dont know what to do.
for now, it will be up, but if any further issues arise, it may be taken out.
An has the final word in my opinion, but i dont think he's going to see this blog.
SpaceHey Rules + ToS
follow rules carefully. they are vague and you may get banned for something small yet avoidable.
*** im not a mod, so i cant say for sure you will be banned, but this is based upon stuff thats been happening to many users recently + additional things I have noticed. you may have heard of "the banning sprees" of SpaceHey, and this is in reference to the reasons as to WHY some of those users were banned
although i love spacehey, one of the major flaws of this website is how vague the rules are, which leads to many, many, MANY users getting banned for useless things that could be avoided in the first place. so here, I have a made version that I've tweaked to how I + other users perceive are the boundaries.
Safety
You are not allowed to display, share or promote any form of
- Violence (including gore and excessive blood (even in art), as well as threats.)
- Abuse (including that of humans and/or animals)
- Harassment (cyberbullying, excessive trolling, making alts to stalk people who have blocked you, doxxing, etc. the list is infinite)
- Hateful speech (including but not limited to: cyberbullying, racism, very outwardly homo/transphobic remarks, antisemitism, islamophobia)
- Harmful content (including self-harm, shock content, gore, and suicidal content; venting about personal issues is okay in moderation, but if promoting and/or posting too many harmful content posts, your account could have action taken against it )
- Illegal/unlawful content (talking excessively about illegal drugs, sending csm, etc. stuff you could get locked up for. normal p-rnography isn’t allowed on this site either, as it is a site that minors can access.)
- IP leaking/doxxing (if found that you have compromised someone's personal information, there will be action put against your account.)
- DDoSing or causing servers to crash multiple times (if found that you are behind raids then your accounts will be terminated.)
Smoking/vaping/cannabis brands are not allowed to create an account or promote their goods on SpaceHey due to the presence of both minors and users from countries/provinces where it is illegal.
Nudity
SpaceHey is not a place to display, share or promote the following types of content:
- Nudity (includes artistic nudity as well.)
- Sexual content (Including: overly sexual jokes, rape jokes, p-rnography, posting too many "nsfw" or “freaky” bulletins consecutively)
Please try to keep SpaceHey family-friendly (especially considering all Images, Videos and Links).
Spam
You are not allowed to use SpaceHey as a platform to
- Manipulate other users (many people forget that this is a part of "spam". if you scam others, catfish, or play with the trust of others, including blackmail, your account could be terminated if evidence is provided.)
- Create a large amount of Accounts (I'd say be wary when you have more than 4 accounts, INCLUDING JOKE ACCOUNTS such as confession accounts, joke hate accounts, etc etc.)
- Share excessive amounts of content of any type (literally spam. this includes: ddos, spamming bulletins or blogs excessively, creating a nuisance/slowing down the site by posting in a malicious manner or to cause spam.)
If your account got suspended, you are not allowed to create any new accounts. If you are caught ban evading, your newly created account WILL BE BANNED AS WELL.
Impersonation
You are not allowed to impersonate other people on SpaceHey.
We understand that some of you like to create profiles with the names of popular persons as a parody. If you do something like this, please use the "About me" section on your Profile to inform other users that your Account is a parody account. You must do this in a way which can be easily seen and understood by other users! Many users forget this, and this can result in those accounts getting terminated as well as your other accounts!
Copyright and Trademarks
You are not allowed to violate any intellectual property rights, including copyright and trademark, of others. Be wary of using copyrighted logos and images, such as the MySpace logo, as action could be taken against you from parties outside of SpaceHey.
TCCers on SpaceHey
If you've been on SpaceHey for a bit, you may have heard rumblings about people called "TCCers" or just "the TCC" and usually, its a pretty negative rumbling as well.
On other platforms such as Tumblr and Twitter, these are people who are active in the "True Crime Community", hence, the abbreviation of "TCC".
usually, these people are quite chill and just have an interest in true crime, listening to podcasts or watching documentaries, discussing cases in a normal manner.
However, here on SpaceHey, it has taken on a different meaning. There is a side of TCC that romantices people who carry out said crimes, such as mass shootings, bombings, and murders, as well as school shootings.
Sadly, that loud minority of TCCers has had quite a presence here on SpaceHey, as many of them have harmed users on here by:
- doxxing them
- sending them unsolicited sh or gore
- making gore + shock accounts that flooded the new ppls section
- made flashing accounts with the intent to hospitalise photosensitive users
- leaking photos of ppls faces
- overhauling spacehey servers by DDOSing the blogs section
- leading to the shutdown of the layouts tab of SpaceHey (by spamming gore)
All of said people who were here on SpaceHey that did these things labeled themselves as "TCC".
** i feel we should start to normalise these users not being called "tcc" but rather "tcr" for "true crime romanticiser", as again, these people i am talking about are not normal, casual true crime fans. and in calling people "tcc", we are bunching all of those who never did anything wrong into a group with terrible people like columbiners.
There have been and continue to be such tcr people coming forward in peoples friends lists today (about one a month I’ve noticed), so it is not just limited to the select users who have made the horrible accounts in the past.
**Keep in mind that just because someone has an interest in true crime, they are not necessarily a true crime romanticiser.
Having a killer in your heroes section could qualify you for a ban, and this most notoriously includes:
Adam Lanza, Dahmer, Dylan Klebold, Eric Harris, Natalie/Samantha Rupnow, Cal/Calvin Gabriel + Andre Kreigman (because both are based on columbine shooters),
Usernames to look out for 100%: vodka (specifically VoDKa capitalisation), reb, artyom, smiggles (or any other variation like “smiggleton”), natural selection, pekka-eric auvinen (or simply pekka), Bobby Lemon (some weirdo tcr pedo troll who is active on tt + twitter apparently)
Also, any of the names listed in the killers list. While some are common names, like Adam and Dylan, sometimes a reverse image search on a user’s pfp can definitely show you whether someone is tcr or not.
For example: If you find a profile with a brown haired guy holding a gun and the username is simply “Adam,” do a reverse image search. If it matches w any photos of Adam Lanza, then boom you’ve got someone to add to your block list (and report if they are active).
(If you can’t tell already, many of the tcr people here are either columbiners or Adam Lanza apologists.)
Usernames that have been used by tcr people, but not in all cases:
Cal / specifically Calvin Gabriel (usually accompanied by a photo of a blonde boy),
Andre / specifically Andre kreigman (usually accompanied by a photo of a brown haired boy,)
These two above specifically are from the movie zero day, which is heavily based off of the columbine shooting + shooters. They aren’t technically “real” school shooters, but it has been a reoccurring pipeline/pattern for people to add these people into their heroes section or have them as their icon, denying being romanticisers or columbiners, and then later, they will completely embrace the actual killers.
Again, just because someone likes zero day doesn’t necessarily mean they’re a true crime romanticiser, but it is definitely for the best to omit it out of your profile if you don’t want people suspecting you of being one. Again, it’s a pipeline. There have been at least 10 users I know who have followed the exact pattern, so many people are not willing to take any more chances.
- Strawdrugz 🍓 , STRWWH, STRWH, or strawdrugs
-MICAH (Or micaah I think I don’t remember lol)
- Alfie :3 / ALF!E
- snodat
- Zeno
- Cal/Gee :3 / Gee the silly
**again, like…you can name yourself these i guess, but be wary that you may get blocked by numerous people or even falsely reported, as these users did some serious damage to spacehey in 2023 and early 2024 and these usernames are definitely a red flag for many users.
Coding + Fun Stuff
> cool layout hack: if u dont like something in a layout but have too much code to go through (or you want the changes to show in real time), you can go into "inspect element" (or whatever equivalent on other computers), go into the layout itself, and change the colours and images temporarily.
if you make an accident and dont like the changes you made, you can simply just reload the page. however, if you like the new colours or fonts, copy the code from wherever you changed the code in the inspect element, and then paste it into the "about" or "who id like to meet" section on your profile! **make sure youre copying the brackets too because they are important!
> how to add images: online image youre trying to add into your layout or bulletin? right click on the image in google or something, select or wherever youre getting it from, "copy image address", and paste it into this code:
<img src="PASTE HERE AND KEEP THE QUOTATION MARKS">
if you want to directly upload an image that isnt online (ie. its in your camera roll) you can use this site: https://imgbb.com/
there are options to delete the image after certain times have elapsed, so it good for temporary image storing for bulletins :)
when uploading images there, once uploaded, there is a small dropdown menu that says "embed codes". click on that and select "HTML full linked," copy that, and paste it into the HTML editor on bulletins + blogs, or on your profile, simply just paste into whichever section you want the image to show up in.
> helpful layouts:
- dropdown menu by r.o.u.s. to organise your profile: https://layouts.spacehey.com/layout?id=24567
- warning screen (good for pages that may affect photosensitive users or if you want people to know something before accessing your profile) ; not sure who the original maker of the layout is, as the og layout brings me to the nyan cat page, but if anyone knows pls lmk !! ^_^ https://layouts.spacehey.com/layout?id=32342

Adding, something that a lot of people on here forget is that you can add "pointer-events: none;" to floating graphics (the div style) so that they don't block links!! There's so many profiles that have graphics where I can't click on anything and it's rlly easy to work around!

Great blog, super informative! TCR's are getting out of hand, just yesterday had to report. They were already making accounts with a picture of the most recent school sh**ter. At first, I thought it was just normal because I hadn't checked the news and seen the photo yet. Another reason to stay informed🤷
