This is my entire collection of Murakami books I own. 9 total. If u cant tell I love his writing. I've finished reading all of these expect the two on top I am still trying to finish. My goal after those two are done is to read Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman and then the Elephant Vanishes. I love how grounded and realistic yet at the same time fantastical and absurd his stories are. His prose is so simple which really adds to that everyday feel even when the stories plot is about fighting a giant worm who lives under the city. Anyway these r also kinda a ranking because my favorite books are on the bottom of the stack. After dark and first person singular r masterpieces. I remember being unable to put down After Dark while I was reading it. Kafka on the shore is my least favorite despite being his most popular lol. it was the first of his books I ever read, and I did enjoy a lot of it. but man some parts just made me uncomfortable and its much longer then it needs to be. I love anthologies so this is slightly biased but I think Murakami thrives with short stories over novels(not that I dont love his novels). i love his writing so much, im so familiar with it so its always comforting to read.
