the one that got away
oh my god this one is so long lololol but its about an old man looking back on the woman he wished he spent more time with i dont know why i wrote it but yeah
so this one is about an old man writing a letter to his lover from years previous he didnt care for her properly, give her his full attention, he dismissed her, then one day he left her out of no where
later he realized he was wrong for that and decided to finally reach out after years of waiting and trying to figure out whether he should. this poem is his years of contemplation and then eventual letter to her
i try to write to describe the anguish i feel
you left late last night
i dont think this will ever feel real
you left your deodorant on my bathroom shelf
what do i do?
do i throw it out or use it myself?
how many times will i cry about how pretty your hair is?
i want to tear it out and wear it
if it wouldnt hurt your scalp
and your eyes when you smiled
turned the worst days into good ones
will he even look your way when you smile?
im so loyal will you love me
if i never move on?
how can i move on from the song you sang
everytime you yawned when you were bored
oh how you laughed
just so the joke thats really bad
doesnt go ignored
you're my fucking moon
in the night when it gets dark
you illuminate the curtains in my room
when youre not here i cant breathe
im turning blue
its not a life if i cant live it with you
can i please just be your pillow
one more time when you get home?
tell me all about the way you feel
so broken and alone
but you built this world
my special girl
i want to be the one to see how
far youll go
talented angel
i could stare at you all day
come home please my eyes are on you
youll have my unbreaking gaze
all my attention in one place
i have learned from that mistake i let you go
let me watch you bite your lip just one more time
like you did when you were hungry for my touch
i miss you so much
let me take care of you if i am not forgotten by the years of passing time
please let your old and wrinkled hand be encompassed by both of mine
