the full moon we didnt see
this one is about... you guessed it! my mom lol
im sorry for all the poems about her, shes my best muse. i think of her constantly and i want to keep her alive in the imagery of my writing
the greasy fish we fried and ate
and you would even eat the bones
you sliced my filet into pieces
and when you crunched, scrunched up my nose
"theres a full moon out tonight"
would you watch it there with me?
the crickets chirp in summer heat
you grab a wing we stroll the eve
the apple blossom flowers white
and pink their scents just reach my nose
honeysuckles, fireflies
the moon embraced us with her glow
"theres a full moon out tonight"
clouds made it difficult to view
the heaven is a gray abyss
the only light i need is you
so in the misty summer air
we both abandoned this affair
who can say if it was truly full?
either way, that evening wasnt dull
we found more useful things to do
a better way to waste the night
you tucked me in on the brown couch
agreed wed catch the moon next time
"ill always rub your back my baby
let you have the longest fries
ill be here when the sun comes up
ill be here when the bright moon shines"
and as i drifted off to sleep
you held my hand and kissed my cheek
"ill always eat the bony fish,
your mother i will always be"
