What's up with Brothership opinions anyway? (Games Playing Right Now #4)

I haven't seen really any reviews beside thumbnails and a Fully Ramblomattic episode, but I am having quite a bit of fun with Mario & Luigi: Brothership. It is Nintendo so I had to fork over $60 for it so I can't recommend it, but as someone who loved Dream Team I can say that anyone else who played any of the mid-tier games like me are able to enjoy their time with Borthership. I can see why quests my be boring, but Nintendo for some reason trusts players to be more choosy based on rewards rather than competitionist like most peers. The best remedy to boring RPGs is to just have a little imagination to fill in the downtime with you own made up stories. Borthership also goes the rout of being more of the essentials mechanically, only really adding extra QTEs and replacing the already great badge system with a quick swapping plug boon system. If you decide to go the quick charge route, be prepare to micro the plugs every turn because you are an idiot that doesn't think about how much time you are wasting.

Man, I'm not giving a good case for this game.

Ultimately, if you haven't experienced any Mario RPGs, just play Paper Mario: TTYD or Super Mario RPG if you are going for the legal options. There is also Paper Mario: OK, but I can't tell you if you would like that one, especially as I have not played or seen much of it. However, there are also quite a few other Mario RPGs as well on every system N64 + GBA and beyond.

Atlyss is pretty fun. Despite playing online and having a WiFi connection that lagged a bit, the game was extremely playable because of the relaxed parry/block windows. It's just a vertical slice as of now, but it's very fun and has features to reduce suggestive content if you don't want the complete furry fan-service package. Highly recommend, however I am now 2/2 on great games in their own right that also appeal to furry. I assure you it's complete coincidence.

I have bought some other games because licensing and SEGA fomo during autumn sale. Haven't played a single one yet. RIP my budgeting. 💀
