am i too upfront?

the party was good...one issue though. we went to this guy's house, who i have a bad history with in the past, but him and i are both over it (it's just my friends who still hate him). another guy who was there texted this girl i was with when we went on a drive to go do something, telling her that i couldn't be there. i went in anyways and asked the host if i was unwelcome, he said no, and so i went back to hanging around. 

my behaviour apparently made them all confused (i'm sure they were thinking i was going to rant or rave about something...). i wish i talked to the guy who sent the message, just to set the record straight, but i don't know if that'd be a good idea. 

i feel like maybe i'm too upfront? but i think the world should be less sneaky, and if people want to say something, they should (and in some scenarios, face the consequences for their actions). i don't know. i'm not going to change, but it was a strange experience.
