My overactive imagination paints fleeting figures unseen by any eye but my own.

Nothing much happened today, but I've started having weird hallucinations again. I've actually always had hallucinations, auditory and even visual, but they usually happen few and far between. I'm going to recount a few times it's happened, just because it's interesting to me.

First instance I remember

The first time I ever had had a hallucination, I must've been like 4 or so. I honestly can't remember much from then, but I remember this vividly. It was at night, I'd left my bed for some reason. I remember it being dark, and at some point tripping over in the darkness. I heard really really clearly the sound of laughing, like a chorus of laughter coming from all around me. It was bizarre, and I would think it was just a dream if it wasn't for the fact my parents remember busting into my room around that age to me screaming and crying and saying "They're laughing at me" over and over. I was clearly awake at the time, my parents said they worried about it, but eventually just decided to assume it was just some kind of lucid dream. I'm sure I was awake though.

Screamer videos

The next encounter with hallucinations came from when I first saw a screamer video. You know the ones, back when youtube was still a wasteland, so many videos existed that would either be paranormal footage or even just a picture, and would ask the viewer to find something scary or wrong with the thing they are shown. Usually a minute later, a picture of a face and loud scream is heard. I was still really young when seeing this too, probably between 8-10. I believe it was something like this video (CAUTION THIS IS A REAL SCREAMER) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwIkC-B8O1o, except it had the face of the exorcist girl as the screamer, and the image was some kind of jungle image. I can't find this one (Lost media lets go)

Anyway, this is all a prelude to what came after seeing this video. For about the next week, randomly throughout the day, I would see this face of the exorcist girl. Peering up at me from behind the sofa, at the end of a dark hallway, around corners, outside my classroom window at school. It was honestly a terrifying week, and I still can't believe all this happened from a shitty YouTube video.

The shadow people

I'll admit it, this title is cringe as hell. But for some reason, it's entirely true. Ever since I was maybe 13-14, I've started seeing shadowy figures occasionally. usually in dimly lit rooms, or in some cases outside. The earliest experience of this I remember, was in my house at night. I'd needed the toilet, and so I got out of bed and went to the bathroom. The door was open, but when I looked into the room which was really dimly illuminated by moonlight, I could  see a figure standing up by the toilet. I mean a full on shadow, standing there. It was solid, it even obscured light from the window. It was so realistic, I backed off and said "Dude why are you pissing with the door open?". A moment of silence went by, before being followed by me asking "Why the hell are the lights off anyway?". A few more seconds of silence, before I realised that there was no pissing noise (I know, crazy fucking sentence). This was when I looked back in the bathroom, still seeing the figure standing there, and turned the light on. As soon as light hit the room, the figure was gone. I was frozen in shock. I turned the light off again, and there was nothing. I could now see the moonlit window fully. This whole experience was really weird. Not even entirely scary, just confusing. I still can't really explain it besides just chalking it up to an overactive imagination.

Midnight stalking

This is another story involving shadow people. This took place around a year ago. I was drinking with some friends (I don't really know these people anymore). I got really fucked up, I have a habit of not knowing my limits. Overall, the main part of the drinking session was fine, this happened on the way back home. It was late, early hours of the morning, but before the lights had shut off and I was walking back alone while drunk. I'd started to sober up, and that's when I started seeing them. They were everywhere this time. Across the street, standing in a dark part staring at me; In someones front yard. Finally, when I turned down an alley close to home, I reached a point where suddenly my body stopped me from moving. I'm not sure what to even call this, it was like a physical hallucination. I didn't see anything, but here is a good example. Stand near a wall, and try to walk into the wall. When your face gets close enough, your body sort of subconciously makes you stop walking, and sort of tells you that if you go further you'll hit a wall. It's hard to actively walk forward anymore. You can do it if you think about it, but it takes effort to mentally say "I'm going to walk into this wall". That feeling is exactly the feeling I felt, but there was absolutely nothing in front of me. It was confusing and kinda scary. Still, I forced myself to keep walking, and I swear it felt so strange moving past that point. It felt like something was passing through me almost. After that, I did continue to see things until I got home. In the morning, everything was back to normal.

Okay so now that leads me to today. I've been having bad depression (As literally everyone knows because of my fucked up bulletins), and today I had a small episode as it got darker in my room, where I kept seeing a shadowy figure in the dim corner of my room. It was more than just a little thing, I kept seeing it over and over but when I would look it would disappear. Same thing, same place, and no shadows or anything that could have tricked my brain like that. I'm convinced that whatever it is that causes anxiety and depression, is the same thing that causes hallucinations. I mean, both of these stem from some kind of overactive brain function. Either way it's interesting, I've had people refer me to stuff about "Shadow people" online, that seem to be a real phenomena. Real as in, multiple people see them. I still think mostly that it's some kind of mental thing, but the idea of supernatural shadow entities is pretty cool.

But yeah, that's a few experiences I've had. I find them interesting, so maybe you will too. Also, what do you guys think about the theming of this post? I made it a lil spooky because that kinda is the theme in a way.

Anyway, see you next time fuckers <3
