today i had to do an art museum visit for a class paper i have due in 8 days, and I actually ended up loving it! there were old medieval manuscripts on display for their zodiac medieval manuscript exhibit, and ofc im a leo so i had to look at mine. they didnt have so many impressionist works, certainly no german expressionism :/ my favorite works to look at were those inspired by caravaggio, who pioneered chiaroscuro, which is basically an italian term for strong light and dark contrast (used to create a sense of depth and volume, highly effective in these late renaissance/older baroque era works). sorry ill keep the technical yapping to a minimum here. all in all i would definitely go again im sure theres loads more i didnt see, i just got too tired. theres plenty of other things to see in that same city, so when i have money, maybe on spring break i can stay overnight and take a day to see some more of it, by myself of course, that how i like to do things now.
also a crazy thing happened when i was on the train to my destination! i work at a chipotle in a mall for context and our portion sizes kind of have to suck unfortunately. anyways i sit down and this girl sits across from me even though there are seats all around, and she grabs my attention and says i served her yesterday (i worked yesterday). apparently she works in a retail store in the same mall, and we have a surprising amount in common. small world is so crazy isnt it!
