Diary of a Dancer 2.15.21

Welcome to my blog, I've been neglecting this platform since I've been busy working on others, but in this time with my current facebook ban (lmao god forbid I show a little tummy and thigh) I've been working on some fun things that I'm gonna talk about for a minute.

Firstly my dancing has become a huge part of my life and become one of the most notable things that I'm doing right now, and allow me to explain why lol

When I first picked up my silk fans almost 2 years ago now, I was over 350 pounds. That being the biggest thing that's caught everyone's attention. Everyone has been absolutely blown away by the transformation. But it's more than just the weight loss, it's the confidence, it's the elegant way the silk flows through the air that I've spent 2 years teaching myself how to master them, it's the glow of pure happiness I get when I get to dance that people areaddicted to.

Every day I picked up my fans and danced to song after song after song trying moves I had watched on instagram or in music videos, I've spent so much time studying different styles of dance and practicing everything I could with my fans. They feel like just an extension of me when I'm dancing with them and making that silk dance through the air. They help me connect with and really feel the music in my soul in a way I never thought possible.

Taking up dancing has been such a freeing thing for me. I started this to get my weight and health under control and as a form of physical therapy for myself because with my chronic illnesses I live with I have to be gentle on myself. Dancing held the key to getting my life back for me. I live with fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis and scoliosis and inflamitory bowel disease and gout. I am always riddled with pain, but dancing has helped me genuinely take my life back. Don't get me wrong, especially in the colder months, I still struggle greatly and my ability to dance drastically decreases as the pain sets in and just gets more intense in my joints the colder it gets. But it's helped me live day to day easier too.

That's why I'm here to ramble on endlessly about it and hope maybe even just a couple people will care LMAO

Anyway, enough with that, lets get to the fun stuff <3

So because dancing has changed my life so much and opened so many doors for me now, I've fully decided to stick with it. Meaning that I'm currently working on a way that I can turn my passion for it into a career <3

I've started up a Ko-fi creator page, it's still a little baren at the moment, I won't lie haha but that's all gonna change soon because I have a lovely friend who has asked me to be their mentor and help them with dancing with fans.

So what I'm going to do with her help is to actually reccord lessons with her and offer them in a few different ways, so ko-fi is much like 0nlyfans in the sense it will let you do a subscription which is one way i will be releasing my lessons and choreography, but another cool thing it does is allow you to have a stand alone shop, in which i will be able to offer the purchase of the lessons individually or a bundle, if a subscription isn't your thing, and there's also posts that you can limit to your subscribers and supporters (people who've donated or purchased a certian amount you set) and the platform take 0% of your donations which is stellar.

It's definitely a platform that if you're a fellow creator its worth investing in it because its a nice one stop shop to host stuff, but it's also just super easy and user freindly.

So with that being said here's the link to my Ko-fi shop <3

Check it out and give me a follow if you'd like, hell if you donate I might just cry but please keep checking back and watch me grow as a freelance dancer/dance instructor
