Hey there! This is a quick blog that I'm hoping gets people involved and commenting and stuff. I'm planning to hold a Q&A sesh for the next blog which is all about gyaru and overall J-Fashion. How did you discover Gyaru and is there anything beyond the genre besides standing up to the strict beauty standards and social behaviors from Japan? askin the second because i know for sure the genre has a deep history!
i discovered gyaru when i was pretty young (around 12/13), but I never took part in the genre until a few years later. about your second question, tome it's more about feeling free enough to dress in a way that people don't find convenient. a lot of people who are into gyaru like I am enjoy being unconventional because of the awesome feeling it gives you - I don't think I could ever turn back lol.
