People on tiktok go wild for the "weird girls" until they're not conventially attractive, if you're weird and attractive your interests are seen to be cute and quirky but if you're 'ugly' than any interest turns to be cringe
I'm not pretty but I'm not terrible at the same time I grew up being bullied for the things I liked which turned me into a mask of who I truly am, I don't feel like I can express myself the way I could before the bullying, all I want is to fit in but I'm cursed being the weird girl just because I have interests that differ from those around me. I love the things I'm interested in but even those communities I feel like don't accept me it's a never ending loop of trying to fit in and failing

You could pretty much describe every problem with every community, that is on TikTok, with the noting of the fact it is on TikTok LOL.
I pretty much got sick of dealing with communities which were either dead or annoying, so, I just created my own. Mine ironically weren't much more alive, but it was an actual community to some extent at least. I've since found actual good communities which are active, but on small sites like SpaceHey rather than social-media. And the whole "this is cool except when someone who looks bad to me does it" is just braindead, lmao. Even more so whenever 90% of the people actually good at what they are doing, at least with technology, look like they literally came out of a forest after 30 years without bathing either.
