I kinda hate the character trading culture

If you know of toyhou.se or dA, you'll probably know what I'm talking about.

I think hate is kinda a strong word but it's closest to how I feel. I feel that it really just prioritizes already well known artists and it's hard for not so well artists to really get their foot in the door.

Yes, I realize this might come from a root of envy. However, I've been in servers where this is certainly the case. Essentially, it makes you feel as if the design you spent a long time on means nothing because you aren't well known. I'm aware, also, that this isn't always the case obviously.

I get that the growing process is slow, I'm not complaining about that. It's that an artist could literally scribble a cat with paper lines on it and people will buy it for the highest price. Simply because they're popular. I've seen it happen in that same server.

I'm allowed to be slightly envious of this nonsense, yes? To have people buy anything you make so long that it's cute? Admirable.

Jokes aside, it's a bit disheartening. But still, I'll do my best. 💔
