With absolutely zero education I say all this btw. The disturbing rise in the coquette aesthetic and women and girls wanting to look "unreal" or like dolls is infantile and gross. I get that dolls are cute and its fun to dress like one, but promoting eating disorders to acheive this shape is weird because now not only are you dressing in frilly childlike dresses and acting dainty, docile, and delicate, but you are using large contact lenses and makeup to make your face appear smaller and cuter while aiming to have the thinnest frame as possible. I think the entire concept is disturbing as it presents women as LITERAL objects to a global audience of young girls and women, who now WANT to look like pretty lifeless objects at the cost of their physical health. Why is it all "Im just a girl" "Im literally a doll" "I want to look unreal" "I hate calories" and the ENTIRETY OF EDTWT BEING IN ON THIS. Eating disorders are not healthy, and i think its weird that suddenly everyone (YOUNG GIRLS AND WOMEN) want to look like small, skinny, dainty dolls with large eyes and soft lips. The purpose of dolls is not to take away from our own existence as human beings; they are simply small human tokens associated with a variety of cultural, societal, and religious values.

I blame the ENTIRETY OF SOCIETY, people are sick. Young girls and women don't just decide they want to devalue themselves for the male gaze, this behavior is taught and glamorized for us to internalize.

its all very difficult to categorize music as ethical and non ethical. Humans are so flawed its hard to keep track of which artists and bands are good people who you want to support by streaming. SO MANY CONTRADICTIONS

yes!! i've noticed with that style of makeup, it's very easy to cloak your features and to morph into another person. i personally adore doing makeup that's kinda creepy and unnatural, but i've noticed that many people who do a lot all the time tend to forget their real faces? when you start making your irises bigger and changing the direction of your nose to look like a porcelain doll, i can't help but worry that people will be off put by their humanness. i think the style itself is cute, but how people are treating it and going about obtaining it is a refection of something much darker. We are real human beings, even if that's scary sometimes.
Oh of course! Dolly makeup is cute, and a lot of makeup styles are supposed to look unnatural. HOWEVER i am talking solely about the fact that "dolly makeup" is some weird infantilized makeup style or just blatant asian fishing. I agree though, forgetting your natural face is pretty concerning, with people wanting to look like objects...
