I thought I'd use my lunch period to update my SpaceHey today!
Okay, this is going to sound like r/AmITheAsshole but
I've had some grievances with my Math teacher, this guy is pretty weird. First of all, he's hardly ever missed a day in like fifteen years. Which feels like he's a workaholic or married to his job. Yes, education is important, but he clearly doesn't get the concept of breaks being good for you.
Now to be more specific the first problem arose around my writing utensils. I use eraseable pens, which he dislikes. He complained about it when I brought up my work once, and I told him that they were erasable.
His response? A whole ass "I'm the guy who went through college" and "I'm the boss" you aren't spiel. Like, good for you? I don't get how that really equates to me. So that was odd. He made a side comment about it once after too.
Next is this stupid no headphones policy. I'm pretty smart, and I use my headphones to listen to music while I work. I follow along really nicely and even sometimes get ahead. This asshole doesn't like that. and he called me objecting a meltdown. Granted I was a bit pissed because these douche delinquents that sit around me who act like total middle school-ers were snickering at me.
Some poor girl did a more calm version of the same thing to day. He also referred to it as a meltdown. I'm pretty sure she's a diva but I still felt bad for her. Then this dick mocks us saying "you don't understand, I have a really hard life, I need my headphones."
Considering they are one of the only things that kept me sane between his obnoxious rambling and the immature peers I have to be in the vicinity of... ugh
Also as for the work and grading system?
He's department head! and he made the weighting system for tests suck! I dropped to around a 30 by missing a single test and failing to turn in review. When I got back, I gave him my review to grade and guess what? STILL NO GRADE ON THE REVIEW.
I also missed some notes, which we have to be in class to do because he doesn't post keys. keep in mind I was sick on the day of the test and these notes.
I really dislike his "i'm married to my job so you have to be too" mentality. I'm a hard worker but not when my teacher is essentially causing me burn out and to fail over every little thing.
Yeah, i'm partially in the wrong. Still, I think he is too.

The reason for using pens is so that you can see your mistakes. Yes, every single mistake. Every little slip of the pen, or wrong calculation, it all must be recorded. It builds discipline and makes one a better writer. The same goes for headphones. No one should have headphones in class.
One day you will learn the sacred numbers, and you will understand. Your math teacher's seen the sacred numbers... that's why he's never missed a day of his job. And one day, when you're older, you'll get the chance to see them, and you'll understand...
I agree. Rules are rules for a reason.
