With the release of the new KSI song, I saw that someone made a 1950s blues version of it which is infinitely better than the original and then I realized it was AI which was genuinely shocking since it sounded pretty real although after I had it pointed out to me, I could kinda hear some traces of AI in it. I then had someone send me an AI generated Michael Jackson song and it's insanely good which is both impressive and scary. Listening to it, I genuinely can't tell that it's AI. You could tell me this was a lost unreleased Michael Jackson song and I would 100% believe you. I definitely expect generative AI to be used for hoaxes regarding lostwave songs and unreleased songs by big artists. This stuff absolutely has to be regulated since if generative AI can create a convincing Michael Jackson song, what else can it do? If people can just steal your voice like this, they could do a lot of damage. Generative AI when it comes to video and images does look more realistic than it used to but for the most part, I think it's still pretty obvious when an image is real or AI and videos are painfully obvious whether or not it's real or AI and I think this is because the AI is training itself off of other AI images which just results in AI eating it's own tail and because videos with a bunch of stuff moving around is probably a lot harder for an AI to make. The potential of this technology is still incredibly scary to think about and the fact anyone could steal my face and voice terrifies me.
Generative AI is scary

whether ai byproducts are easy to tell depends on how much you want from them and how hard you're willing to edit them. Most of the AI artifacts in sound can be masked by fake tape or vinyl effects for older music, filters for specific frquencies and other mastering techniques, some quite simple, some out right automatic. With art people tend to go overboard with what they need, creating more articacts AND they'd need to put in more work to get them out which they were never going to do, hence the use of AI.
