a lot less socially acceptable to give a real kid loads of trauma, not sure "it was for character development" holds up in court

because they cant be the sentient ai weirdos i just made in my head (though i am planning to take artificial intelligence engineering when I am older just because I might have a chance to make one as close to my ocs as possible)
