Reflecting on the questions given :)

Every time I have to do an assignment or just get questions asked in general about myself I somehow always forget the answers even though I know them. The first question is what am I passionate about… I had to take a really big look around my room to just try and answer this question, and as I looked around I think my room answered the question for myself. I mean.. I also had to ask my roommate and her answer was “What are you NOT passionate about!”.

And to answer the question… I’m honestly passionate about so many things, I think that this is due to the obsessive aspect of my personality. When I start liking something, I get REALLY into it. You could say I’m passionate about my passions haha. I could spend hours talking just about one of the things that I’m passionate about, but who wants to read that? I wouldn’t lol. I think I should just make a mini list of the things I’m passionate about. Some of my passions are cute things, decorating everything I own with stickers, being true to myself, my loved ones, videogames, baking, YouTube documentaries about the most random things ever, winter, cooking for the people I love, parmesan cheese, packaging, art, hair dye, creating things, Tamagotchi, Twilight, the color pink, keychains, trinkets, my pets, going into stores and never buying anything, pan-fried dumplings, diet coke, Sanrio…. The list could go on and on…

The second question is what culture/geography/region/country do I identify with. Another difficult question! Sadly, I wouldn’t be able to say that I identify with my own culture/country, there’s a lot of reasons of why I left, and one of them was not feeling like I belonged. I think that I don’t really identify with any cultures/religions/countries, but I do like certain aspects of them.

A design object that I love is a sponge called Scrub Daddy. It’s a really random thing to love but I think it just makes me happier and the chore of washing dishes easier. Before I lived here, I used to get so many tiktoks of the Scrub Daddy sponge on tiktok, even their Shark Tank pitch, and for some reason I really wanted to use it (and also the fact that I hate regular sponges). When I got here and had to buy things for my apartment, the moment I saw a Scrub Daddy I almost lost it, and I haven’t bought a different brand of sponges since. When I returned home for this summer, I noticed that they started selling them in Ecuador! I almost died of excitement. When I showed the sponge to my mom ,she loved it and not it’s the only sponge she buys #teamscrubdaddy.

One of the recent event/news that I really feel for is the ongoing genocide of Palestine and its people. I don’t really want to get into it because it’s a topic that makes me horribly sad and I just… don’t want to bring it into this. I just hope that one day the people from Palestine can return to their land and rebuilt their culture. Free Palestine.

One of the things that I was really impressed about when I lived in Europe was the prices of public transport compared to the prices in Canada. It’s so much cheaper in Europe! In Madrid, Spain, for only 20 euros you can purchase a monthly public transport pass… only 20 euros !!! (It’s like 30 CAD) compared to the 120 – 156 cost of the pass here. Like what!!!!!! The difference is so insane.

I think I might be a T-Shaped individual. Emphasis on the think. As a graphic designer I think I deeply know the area of typography and illustration! I mean I think… but that’s what my employers have complimented on when it came to my skills. As a graphic designer I can do other various things like photography (even though I’m not the best haha), branding and identity, packaging design, editorial design, information design… etc. I kinda also identify as a jack of all trades (and master of none) as I feel like if I put enough time and energy into something I might be able to do the thing, will I be the best? No, but I will for sure be able to do it.
