liking stuff

i think we put so much pressure on aesthetics and the concept of 'core' that people just kinda wash out what they like vs what they want to like. have i fallen to this myself? yeah, i fucking hate hello kitty yet here i am wanting matching hello kitty pjs and sending pictures of sanrio characters to my friends and being like 'OMG IT'S USSS' - to clarify - i don't actually hate hello kitty, i just like, am mildy annoyed at the people who ultra like it, and again thats because of the 'aesthetic' they fit into, the stereotypical Sanrio :3 girl thats like quirkily insane and shit - idk it sets me off and i become less secure in the things i like and idk how hello kitty fits into this, but somehow she does.

i just want to like the things i like and thers nthing wrong with that, but somehow theres always someone ready to talk aesthetic and be all up in my space like "om gggggg ur s000000 *insert tiktok trend'-coded!!!" and like yes i do that from time to time, i'm not holy, but like, it's total brainrot and ofc i don't mean it in a serious way.

can't i be able to wear my mixed jewellery in peace? without someone telling me to "NeVR mIx MeTAlS" like ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh hnghhhhhhhh, i want to wear my long black flowy clothes without having to be labelled a certain political agenda or subculture because of it!!!!!!! i love my skinny jeans and big sweaters, i love my baggy cargo/tight shirt combos, i like my curly hair - but it's a lot of maintance so i straighten it! i love my chipped nailpolish but getting acrylics is also great, my closet is a wonderful mix of colours and textures and i like changing it up.

and i like that, i like stuff, let me like stuff without putting me in a box plz. i just wanna like stuff
