You're in for a long one here..
If you didn't know, I'm a huge Splatoon fan. So. Grand Festival. It was the most fun Splatfest I've ever played. The live music was by far my favorite part, I think I spent three hours total sitting there listening to it; Ink Me Up and Ebb and Flow were probably my favorites out of all the songs played. I did get a LOT of mirror matches. I was on team Present for context. I saw a lot of people on Future, and surprisingly didn't see much of team Past despite them wining the Splatfest.
That being said, I had a LOT of fun this Splatfest. The Big Run happening the weekend before was a big bonus. I was maybe two golden eggs away from scoring silver I think, but Bronze looks nice in my locker. the Big Run and Grand Festival were absolutely worth every hour I spent up in my room dehydrated.
That being said, many people are worried this is the end for the Splatoon franchise. Nintendo's dedicated their time to making fourteen Mario Kart games, they won't stop Splatoon at a third game. Along with that, Nintendo places Splatoon with their larger franchises (Mario, Zelda, etc). Splatoon is definitely one of Nintendo's more larger and higher income franchises, not to mention its popularity worldwide; I've seen posts from just about every country where Splatoon is available.
This absolutely isn't the end for the Splatoon series by any means. It might take a couple years for a new game teaser, but I don't think this is it.
