Textures in Unexpected Places: The Art of Observation

When I go out shopping for anything, I’m always hyper aware of textures. If I don’t like the texture of a certain thing, I won’t buy it. Especially when it comes to clothing. Through texture you can determine if the quality of the material or how it will look on your body without having to try it on.

I feel like I could go on and on about textures but I don’t think that anyone wants to read paragraphs and paragraphs about textures lol.

When I was a little girl, I was OBSESSED with softness and things that felt soft to the touch. If I was watching TV with my mom and her pjs were super soft, I would spend hours just touching her pjs, not even paying attention to what was going on tv. Softness has always been something that I like to have around me, be it with plushies or soft blankets.

I feel like this blog post is all over the place, but at the same time, I feel like it’s a true representation of me, of how things work in my head. I tend to overthink so much that I overthink of overthinking! ( I have to take meds to be able to sleep at night, because if I don’t I won’t sleep due to overthinking).

There’s one artist that when I think about textures I immediately think of her. Here’s her work if anyone is interested! (Here’s her website https://milatextiles.co.uk/)

I just wanna run my fingers through all of those beads! And really weird of me to say but her works also look like they would taste good…

I also did a bit of texture exploring in my apartment, and I noticed that there are a LOT of soft textures (yay for me). Here’s some of the soft textures that I found :).
