meaning of "Whatthehellishappening?" - Glass Animals from my point of view

I'll tell you something.  "whatthehellishapenning" struck me as an amazing song. It presents a situation where the protagonist is kidnapped, which inexplicably brings him a feeling of happiness. 

Perhaps the happiness comes from  liking extreme situations. However, the  album explains that the protagonist fears for his life and thinks of his loved ones, as it may be his last day. the feeling of lonliness makes him  begins to develop an attachment to the person who kidnapped him. 

This could be a metaphor for people who tolerate all kinds of abuse and stay with someone who has, unknowingly, kidnapped and manipulated them, knowing that the victim cannot handle loneliness. The unfortunate protagonist shows that he remains trapped in this cycle of relationships, as the song mentions, "I'll do this every summer, I'm so happy with my hands tied, being kidnnaped is my thing in life". It's a song with an interesting meaning and an upbeat rhythm that contrasts with its message, revealing another side of an abusive relationship.
