underballet (AU)

hiiii everyone!

this is kind of a part two to my deltaballet blog entry (though undertale did come first). underballet is my own au for undertale which although it is similar to dancetale isn't inspired by it! the idea of this au is that the story of undertale (woooooaaaah) is like a ballet-dance performance type thing. everyone is in a company together called the underground ballet company or something like that. i haven't decided on a name for it yet, i just want it to have underground somewhere in the name, or maybe home? like.. home and new home???? or maybe there can be multiple companies for each world??? anyway!

the plot of undertale didn't really happen, but the relationships do kind of stay the same? like, toriel and asgore are still divorced, but none of the humans died..... papyrus and undyne still train together.. mettaton is still a superstar......

this also has some fun crossover ideas with the deltaballet au!!!!!!! the difference between that though is that undertale is more of a company setting and deltarune is more of a ballet school setting.

this idea has been lowkey floating around in my head since i was 11 and i finally wrote it all down wow

here's all the character stuff if anyone wants to add anything please do !!!!

a bit of background

in ballet companies there are different ranks depending on your skill. the ranks dictate what kind of roles you will be put in. from lowest to highest there is corps de ballet, soloist, and principal dancer. sometimes there is first and second soloist. in some companies (most famously the paris opera ballet) there is a rank higher than principal called etoile (etoile is french for star). there's only a few at a time, and is reserved for the best dancers at that company. i decided to make one character be an etoile and i'm gonna introduce them first, even though they're kind of an oc.........

Blue Soul Human
💙 this is the blue soul human who has the integrity trait. in undertale that soul is associated with the ballet shoes and tutu
💙 they are the only etoile of the company!
💙 in my mind their name is marie
💙 i had a lot of name ideas. i loved odette but i chose marie because in the nutcracker clara's original name is marie. i also knew a girl named marie in my old ballet school who was cinderella in our production one year. 
💙 basically good at everything ever

Toriel
🥧 similar to the deltarune version, she used to be a principal dancer
🥧 and was asgore's dance partner
🥧 not anymore bc they divorced
🥧 teaches company class everyday
🥧 runs the baby class herself as well
🥧 perfect turnout :)
🥧 white pointe shoes, long dresses
🥧 bakes pies for every show's debut

Asgore
💐 also similar to deltarune, used to be a principal dancer
💐 was toriel's dance partner
💐 but they divorced
💐 grows the flowers that are given to the ballerinas at the end of each show
💐doesn't perform much anymore but can be convinced
💐he basically owns the company himself now
💐 bffs with everyone bc he sits in for every rehersal
💐 perfect.... turnout....!!!! (dreemurr thing)

Alphys
🍜 SUPER CRAZY GOOD
🍜 but has TERRIBLE stage fright
🍜 does audio engineering as well
🍜 undyne's dance partner
🍜 warms up to mew mew kissy cutie songs
🍜 trying to convince asgore to let them do a mew mew production
🍜 eats chips for snacks

Undyne
🔱principal dancer
🔱 alphys's dance partner
🔱 strong as all get out
🔱 beats the hell out of her pointe shoes
🔱 keeps a pointe shoe graveyard. she calls them her defeated enemies
🔱 plays the piano for toriel's class sometimes
🔱 trains papyrus so he can be better
🔱 has the hugest most obnoxious water bottle ever

Papyrus
🍝looks up to undyne a  lot
🍝 trains with her everyday
🍝 EXCELLENT ballon (this is basically your airtime when you jump)
🍝 has a weird hidden talent for acrobatics as well
🍝 always waves to the people in the orchestra pit
🍝 all his warmup clothes say COOL DUDE on them
🍝 keeps a lot of bones in his bag for some reason

Sans
🌭no one can figure out why he's here
🌭 or why he is a soloist
🌭 always eating something
🌭 doesn't try in class like at all
🌭 and then he performs and you think he's been practicing twice as hard as everyone elese
🌭 also good at acrobatics like papyrus
🌭 wears the same clothes as in undertale
🌭 taps random piano keys when the pianist is playing to annoy them

Mettaton
🎥 most famous member of the company
🎥 also the most flexible
🎥 principal dancer as well
🎥DIVA BEHAVIOR
🎥 has a huge pink duffle bag that he keeps ten pairs of pointe shoes in
🎥 also has like a million warmups. by the end of warmup class there is a pile of them on the floor
🎥 GLITTER
🎥super flash allllll the time

Frisk
❤️working very very hard with toriel and undyne to get better!!!!!
❤️ just got their first pair of pointe shoes!!
❤️ chara's dance partner
❤️ really good at pas de deux (trying to implement the flirt option here ok)
❤️ keeps a bunch of bandages in their bag and gives them to people in case of blisters
❤️ REALLY good at acting onstage 
❤️ carries around like three drinks all the time (water, a smoothie, and hot chocolate)
❤️ toriel has to help them sew the ribbons on their shoes

Chara
💔 more advanced than frisk but about the same level
💔 HATESSS pointe shoes but they train with them anyway to get stronger and just in case
💔 black pointe shoes + slippers bc EMO
💔 frisk's dance partner
💔 most perfect port de bras ever for whatever reason (aside from muffet)
💔 perfect turn out
💔 kinda sucks at stage acting 
💔 loves barre for some reason

Asriel
🌻 very good at everything because his parents had been investing him since he was little
🌻 used to go to toriel's baby class with chara
🌻 perfect turnout
🌻 records him and chara and frisk performing their own made up dances together
🌻 keeps every flower he has ever recieved by drying them and pressing them
🌻 not very flexible for some reason
🌻wants to be principal dancer like his parents

Muffet
