I'M BACK CHUCKLENUTS!

Sorry that took so long, I was struggling to find the words to talk about this game.
Finally found them. Anyways.....
OUTRUN, You probably know OF it, It's a rather fun game from the 80s which is all about going as far as you can in your car.
It also influenced a whole genre of music and certain people's wallpapers for a few months. you know who are, nerd.
Well, did you know it got a sequel? I'm sure some of you have if you've watched Ross's Game Dungeon episode on outrun clones.
For everyone else, Welcome to outrun 2006! Sega's best game in my opinion, and their best of 2006 without contest. IYKYK.

What is outrun 2006?

Well, outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast (also just OR2006) is a revamp of outrun 2. New maps, new cars, and missions.
it includes the original outrun 2 as well, if you want it. drive as far and as fast as you can in outrun mode, impress your girlfriend in heart attack mode,
race Sega's times in time attack mode, and maybe even have a few single-player races with the coast2coast missions.
there is also a shop, where you can actually get rewards and motivation to grind the game, including new cars, music, and some other fun goodies.
the multiplayer got shut down a while ago, which is kinda sad, but it is to be expected.

Outrun mode.

This is the mode you will probably try immediately after booting up the game the first time. Basics are this: you drive fast, try not to crash, and get to the checkpoint before time is up.
There are different levels that you select by going on a particular exit on the highway, go left for an easy level, right for a harder one. and by harder, i mean REALLY hard.

At the end, you get a certain amount of outrun points for spending in the shop. fun stuff.

Heart attack mode

This mode has you going really fast too, but you also need to do certain things for your girlfriend. Things like drift, pass cars, and dodge her schizophrenic hallucinations, like UFOs, or meteors.
Yeah, she's insane, she even tells you to commit vehicular homicide as one of her tasks. It's a fun mode, though, and the crazy adds fun.
In the heart attack mode of the outrun 2 version, if you finish a run, she shows that she only loves your car, and runs right past you and making out with it (i told you, she's INSANE.)
This is funny, because nobody loves you, and nobody will ever love you.
You got that, right?

Time attack mode

In this, you race the clock AND people who made the game! yeah, it has ghosts of the top players from the Dev team!
yeah you ain't beating that time, unless you are some sweaty nerd, of course. but yeah, just try to beat that time! WOO HOO!
Seriously why didn't they add the option to compete against your OWN times, like in Mario Kart?

Coast 2 Coast

These are a section of specially curated missions, there's the heart attack mode again, with new girlfriends after you A rank the previous one.....
no comment.
Then there's racing! Race bots, that DON'T behave like they are driven by someone who made the game. you progress, you buy a new car to keep racing, you progress some more. fun!
I still hate it.

Overview/rating

Overall, it's a fun experience, with certain flaws. i give it a 7.5 out of ten. I definitely reccomend.
