Whenever someone has different thoughts from the majority, they always end up being misunderstood since it's not "typical". But how do they even know if their own trace of thought is normal and ordinary? Being normal (or at least how I view it) is apparently having a large friend group and following social media and trends. Is that truly normal? If they have ever seen themselves from a third perspective, they may just view themselves pathetic. Following the majority without a trace of originality in their mind. I understand that it is sometimes fun to participate with what others are doing to find what the thrill of it is, but I'm seeing everyone slowly forming into mindless slaves that can only wait until the next new discovery of dopamine, that only lasts for a short while, appears. Have they ever once stopped and thought about what they wish to become, or what they've done that they were proud of? If that is being normal, then I would rather be classified as a sociopath.
When someone doesn't follow what they enjoy, all of the sudden they're overshadowing that person. They look at those who are slightly different as if they came from outer space to discover humans, but I view it as the opposite. They're the ones who aren't acting human. Humanity was supposed to discover something intriguing, and then share it with others to see their opinions, thoughts, and such. But now that's reduced to finding random slang and letting others repeat over them like parrots. Heck, this is an insult to parrots, at least they're trying to figure their surroundings unlike those who don't bother to question.
I do know that not everyone acts like this, and maybe I'm an outsider who doesn't know anything about them. But it's almost becoming concerning. Whenever I ask them if they even understand what they're doing, I got shrugs and "I don't know"'s. Perhaps I'm overthinking, but is this why more robots are around the world, to take care of things? Do humans really have no chance anymore? I don't believe that. I probably just placed myself in the wrong environment.

If you think about it, there is no such thing as true "normality".

Maybe we have different definitions about normalcy, what's yours? Also in a way, I agree with you

Ah, normalcy is the word. Thank you. (English is a second language for me, so there's words I may not know about.)
My definition of "normalcy", hmmm... The usual? You know, things you do a certain way because that's how they always were. Like having *this* food for breakfast, or going to bed at a specific hour. It probably varies depending on the eviroment, culture and/or religion for everyone.

No worries! English is also a second language to me, so I relate. For me, normalcy is what the majority follows, like behaviors, way of speech, etc.
It's fun learning another person's perspective. If we use your meaning, then it's as you said. Being normal doesn't exist because of how much it varies.
