My tenant is angry at me for confiscating his gaming chair

My tenant is 24 years old and has been renting my apartment for four years now. He's a pretty decent guy, nothing too special, but still a pretty likeable person to be around eith. However, there's a drawback to his behaviors, that being his tardiness when it comes to paying rent. Usually, it ranges from three to four days, however this time he's gone too far and was late on rent for an entire week! 

Due to me being a person who can easily be driven on the wall, I lost it completely and decided to take action: I walked into his apartment two days ago and confiscated his favourite gaming chair which he never gets off from!

Since then, him, his family and friends have been bugging me non stop to bring him back his chair spitting melodrama all over the place like "he can't live without it" and stuff like that. Throughout my 49 years of being a landlord, never have I ever seen such dependency on a soulless object. Tsk, tsk, tsk.. what can I say...
