Spotify is a bitch. I need to replace it. I pay like 12 dollars a month for it and it sucks, for many reasons:
1. I cant get it on my lumia
2. it tells me my mac operating system is out of date
3. I have to constantly update it and it stops working
4. I don't actually own any of the music
I am currently building a python script that scrapes through spotify and finds the same song on youtube, and downloads it as an mp3 file to my computer, which in my opinion is cool as fuck,
gotta love piracy. :3

Omg, the lumia community is still alive. Also, I remember that I once did make a bash script to download playlists from youtube, by downloading from invidious, bc I forgot yt-dl existed, where I was downloading the invidious page of the playlist with curl, then pass it to some jq-like parser for html, get a list with all video urls and then again download all the pages of each video via curl, then pass it to that parser again and then to jq, bc the page contained json inside the html, that had the urls and then finally, download from the real destination. It was flaky and was hard coded for a specific quality setting, but it kinda worked. xD
Lol I mean if it works it works. I just did it more efficiently I guess haha. But now I'm soooooo happy I don't have to use Spotify anymore lol

Yes. ^^ Also, while spotify's api is widely used, they have gotten worse over time, like spotify hifi still isn't available, while the competiton had something available for a long time. (except maybe tidal, where they didn't provide audio as flac, but the sketchy mqa technology for a long time until recently) And also their layoff of glenn mcdonald killed every noise at once.

I may have 230 viruses, but I'm free.

by the way, I got the script working, it mass downlaods mp3's from spotify and youtube onto my computer, so I can put them on my mp3 player or my phone :3
