i really hope spacehey sticks around, i've only started using it and it's the only thing i find really does what i've always wanted from social media. the whole concept of everything needing to be short, catchy & attention grabbing so people don't scroll past it has always annoyed me. i don't want to show up on someone's feed, i want them to come up to me only if they care to read what i have to say or to look at me.
twitter sucks. people take it as an invitation to make everything into a joke or a callout. i tried tiktok and even though i'm flattered some people follow me, i don't feel right being on it at all.
instagram has my friends and for some reason i don't want to post for them. it feels too much like begging. if random people don't like me, who cares but if they scroll past it feels personal, even though it shouldn't obviously.

yeah, this is like the only social media site i use regularly and being on here feels so much better than using like any other social media. the only thing i actually dislike about it is how so many people treat this website like its just twitter but with more customization, leading to them focusing on drama and having as many followers as possible, instead of making friends or participating in communities for things theyre interested in

It is nice to have an alternate social media site that isn't owned by big companies who encourage users to post a certain type of way to appeal to the algorithm and heavily regulate the site and restrict what users can do and say solely to appeal to advertisers and make money.

I lovee being able to choose not to interact with people without it being considered 'rude', spacehey interactions feel way less forced and more genuine than on apps like tiktok.

Modern social media are very very bad for mental health imo, I started using old twitter for twitter and spacehey for most of my online interactions, feels great actually interacting with humans on the internet!
