Counter Strike 2 is has a really bad Linux port, which sucks because CS:GO/CS:2 are my favorite game(s) of all time.
The game's framerate is significantly lower on the platform. The worst part is that, when specifically playing online, looking at players (to uh, idk, shoot them??) makes the game absolutely shit its pants. Almost unplayable in a competitive way.
What makes this even worse ia that the game runs like butter using Valve's own compatibility layer, Proton, but they don't let you use it online. facepalm.
This situation really didn't need to happen either. Not sure why, but during the Beta testing, Linux players couldn't play. Had to run it on Windows to play the beta. Why?? If you're gonna release a Linux build shouldn't you f------ test it first???

CS2 is a very sorry "port", I bet it's just dxvk. I tried to play it on my main os back when cs2 came out and it had all sorts of issues with smokes etc...
I'm dual booting windows just to play/make stuff for cs2
Wish valve actually cared about their biggest game ;(

Yeah it sucks. It seems to be a specific issue with online play though. Offline it runs very smoothly. I ran a benchmark after doing some tweaking and found that I was getting good frames, it's just specifically online where FPS drops are huge. Maybe subtick related...
