Considering writing a tutorial blog for people to read cause the others are bad.

Recently, I have been wondering why every layout I see seem to all look the same. At first, I thought people were lazy and just didn't push the bounds of what was in front of them. But then I stumbled across the guides people wrote for CSS and...

Yeah no wonder these are the layouts that stick out... Kinda.

Untitled

Above are decent layouts don't get me wrong, but when this is the gold standard of layouts then we have a problem. Out of the 10 pages I scrolled through, only ~7 moved sections around and a couple more had interesting header sections. I think we can do better, but there isn't documentation out specifically for SpaceHey (or is there?)

A guide to making your own layout (Simplified) >>

Yeah it really is.

So I can simplify my opinion as this, making your own layout is different from pasting in random shit you don't understand. It isn't inherently bad but my god this isn't a real guide. (Also she said she's gonna update the guide but it's been a month since that edit.)

It really doesn't promote anything creative, and either way these code blocks are in many GitHub repos and layout pages.

Thanks for filling up my clipboard!

This isn't a guide, and it's worse than the last one. It's literally just a stylesheet you copy with comments on it. And on top of that, it doesn't even look all that good. It at most teaches you some CSS arguments you insert into certain rules.

I only put it here because while looking for these sparse guides I got referred to it.

Coding tips for newbies: changing background #1 >>

Mozilla did a better job.

I'm gonna use this final example to paint what I want to do, this is a decent guide on what it wants to teach. However I notice that the thing these guides don't teach is the actual structure of your profile, this can easily be solved and answered by existing documentation on MDN or W3S.

It teaches what it's supposed to, but it's such a minuscule answer to a question that was already answered.

So to conclude, If you guys want me to make an actual guide then I'll do it. The current ones listed on here are the ones I could find after like 3 hours of looking, and their quality is just all over the place.

omg i woud die on a hill to have someone who as high skilled space hey layout knowlege do a guide because it would be life saver

i feel as tho other guides just provide you with basics, aldou sure the basics are importent... wha stops someone from just- copying and pasting the code in and just change the image/content in question

hell the only reason i found out how to widen my layout was by accident when i was looking at accounts with popular layouts many new users use

so having a guide where you can start experimenting without the fear of having your code be a complete MESS would be so good

I'll probably start it off with a guide on how to edit on an IDE, so you don't have to use the plaintext editor SpaceHey uses.

I mean there aren't any resources for people who do make layouts to do more advanced things.
