Had the worst sleep of my life last night. I tried going to sleep earlier since someone in a Discord server kept talking about how important it was to have a proper sleep schedule and it inspired me to actually try and go to bed early and wake up in the morning instead of staying up until 4AM watching Whang! while eating Cocoa Pebbles and waking up in the afternoon. Anyways I ended up trying to go to sleep at 2AM which was later than I wanted to get to bed since I meant to go to bed at 1AM. When I went to bed, my childhood insomnia returned and it took like an hour for me to actually go to sleep since I kept tossing and turning trying to find a comfortable position and thinking about all sorts of things. I turned off my lights and turned on a fan for white noise and removed my covers but it didn't help much and it took me an hour to actually fall asleep so I really went to bed around like 3AM. I also woke up several times throughout the night and had trouble getting back to sleep every time I woke up. I then got up at 7:40AM. I'll definitely take a sleeping pill when getting to bed earlier tonight. The only reason I didn't do that this time was because they usually make me sleep for way longer than I want to and I end up waking up during the evening and missing most of the day.

Try gradually going to sleep earlier, like one hour earlier one day, then 2 hours the next day. Or tire yourself during the day so much that you go to sleep when you're actually sleepy/exhausted.
