today was a pretty uneventful day. i woke up at 10am but stayed in bed for a while since i was quite tired. i did get some sketching done today but nothing useful. however. i did settle on an idea finally of what to draw. ive been meaning to do more paintings based off of the greek myths, offer my own interpretation of them, with some inspo of course from my artistic hero, awanqi. their work makes me so emotional. i can only dream of being half the artist she is <33

i wanna do a series about the myth of Icarus and Daedalus. maybe about 3 or 4 paintings based off of it. im most excited for the final painting, of Icarus when he's fallen. after Daedalus (his father) gives an offering to Apollo, i would imagine Apollo would grant some sort of apology or protection to icarus before he enters Hades.

also, one of my favourite bands, Thrice, has 2 songs about this myth. The Melting Point of Wax, which is in Icarus' POV. Then Daedalus (my personal fav) which is, of course, in the POV of Daedalus. ive been relistening to their discography and those two songs have always stuck with me, even before i really got into Greek mythology. 

i will probably be more productive tonight and tomorrow. thursday is my fav day, i just always feel pretty good on a thursday. cant wait :3
