CBT

I now have my CBT :)

It went surprisingly well all things considered. I kinda freaked out a little during the initial training grounds segment and had difficulties with target fixation (fixating on the obstacle instead of looking past it), and I still have some slight clutch control issues. But according to my instructor that was perfectly normal for someone who was that new to a motorbike.

After he set my mind a little more at ease he had me practicing pulling out of a junction both left and right, with head checks, and gear changes. I managed to get comfortable enough with that, that he was willing to take me on the street ride for the final part of the CBT.

The road riding was super comfy, although the Honda Grom 125 we were using had an issue with spedometer where it was reading higher speeds than we were actually going leading to a few moments where I  thought I was going about 23mph and being told to speed up because we were cruising around 17-18mph... But that aside it was pretty smooth sailing. Only 1 stall on a junction that I recovered from well and then ended with my CBT being signed off as soon as we got back.

If you live in south Wales I'd definitely recommend booking with the Pontyprydd site as Paul was a fantastic instructor.

I am now also saving to buy my first bike. And as such have put a discount on all my music on Bandcamp. use code "wheels" to get 15% off everything including already discounted bundles and items.
