The film is gross I don't understand why people like this fken film. I get it it's supposed to loosely portray the director's life but I feel like they could've "filmed some scenes" a bit better. This is like Netflix's "Cuties" level of uncomfortableness yet everyone praises this film. I don't get it.
Thirteen (2003) is one of the worst films I've seen

i think the uncomfortable-ness of it is intentional, but i still disliked it after i watched it however i think it's powerful in the sense that it's very in ur face with all the topics. one of the co-writers for the movie was also just 13!! crazy stuff

I do agree with you . i have never seen the movie but have seen a lot of edites abt and found a lot of girls saying its the best movie ever or they say they only watched the movie for the aesthetic of it like girly what aesthetic are talking abt being a durg addict . and there's a lot of scenes where the girls do adult things and it is so disgusting and uncomfortable . in conclusion this movie suck so bad and i will never understand the hype about it

I haven’t seen the film but I had planned to, this was however before I looked through the Parental Guide for the movie on iMDB and I was fairly concerned reading the stuff tagged especially considering the characters depicted here are supposed to be literally thirteen. The only reason the film even piqued my interest was because of that early 2000s vibe it had but there’s probably dozens of far better films that can fulfil that. I don’t understand why it’s so praised either tbh

Yeah it's just gross. Like, especially the actors were 14 years old while playing as the characters so it just makes it 100% worse considering the stuff they do and talk about. And theres really weird specific shots or scenes that are filmed wayy to long that just adds more to the uncomfortableness. I do agree, I like the 2000's vibe but like you said, there's other movies that portray that aspect well and that you don't need to watch this film to get it lol
