Just happened

I told my mom I was done, just done being this mess I was, I told her I was going to be so much better, because this hair doesn't belong to someone who's depressed, it belongs to an artist, a writer, a dreamer, a singer, not a mess. She said she didn't want me to change for bad reasons, because it seemed like something must've hurt me bad enough to cause this, I told her no I'm doing it just because... but in truth, something did hurt me bad enough, but I'm finally done letting it hurt me. I am beautifully me.
