The western economy tied to many central banks (Federal reserve, Bank of England) is in debt to these banks because of unmitigated spending, so they owe money to these banks and the bankers who run them. The last 20 years have seen large parts of government budgets being spent on foreign wars, and laundered into social programs that have seen a lot of the money not spent on public works or utilities. The United States owes about 32 trillion in debt. Instead of solving the problem by cutting spending, governments around the world have continued to spend hoping to outspend the debt, but this is causing the buying power of the currency to plummit. The UK government has cut spending for certain social programs but overall spending still increases. The global economy feels likw this because all the banks are tied to the major central banks and the wars in the form of the petro dollar. What we are now seeing is the result of the banks trying to slow down inflation by increasing interest rates, but it isn't working because it's not supposed to. You also probably don't have a job because people are aksing for higher wages and corporations, instead of giving jobs to people for more money they have decided to offshore labor, or just increase the prices. A great example is california. 20 dollar minimum wage but the cost of living and fast food prices has increased.
