Spoiler Warning! (Obviously)
TW: MENTIONS of suicide.
Thinking about the fourth episode of The Devil's Playhouse so hard because what the actual hell was that. I just finished playing it with my family, and it was super funny, super uncomfortable, and honestly kind of tragic at the same time?
There were so many implications, like when trying to recreate the right universe/timeline, the three possible futures for Sam areĀ
1) Sam gets consumed by a beast, who happens to be Max. This is the correct one to get access to the universe with the item you need.
2) A Romeo and Juliet parody, where Sam kills himself because he thinks Max is dead. Outside of this, Max refers to the event as something like "Sam swooning over some Dame." I'd also like to point out considering what happens in S3E5, the implications are kind of horrifying. We never see what would have happened to Sam if Max hadn't come out of the time machiney thingy. We don't know what he would have done. It likely is a throwaway gag, but it's very concerning considering how much of the third game center around Sam's relationship with Max, and ultimately, the idea of losing him. Whenever he does throughout all three games, he loses pretty much all sense of morals he had previously. Without a chance of Max coming back, I shudder to imagine what Sam's reaction would be.
3) Max kills Sam.
SO you'll notice I put a lot of emphasis on two considering it's like 5x more sentences than the others. This is because I just feel like there's so much symbolism in the other two that I don't even know where to start. Would love to see other interpretations!! Also if any of you want to dm me about Sam and Max (I've watched the entire TV show, written a bit of fanfic, and I'm almost through the entire game) or even roleplay Sam and Max, I'm SUPER open to it. like, Seriously encourage it. Also, if this belongs in games, tell me >3<. I'm really not sure, because this IS about the game, but it also covers a lot of analysis.
EDIT: I'M A FUCKING MORON I JUST PLAYED S3E5
