FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON

If you would like to be crushed by a book then I highly recommend this piece of art. I have read it many times including in the psych ward when I had to go back there like 3 years ago. an absolute classic that im so ANGRY about for not having been more popular.... but maybe that's a good thing at the end of the day? i would hate for the meaning and seriousness to be lost on anyone. to give you a quick idea, imagine that someone who has been betrayed by society is forced to be involved in it... what does he get? he gets constant mistreatment and he's not even capable of realizing that his so called "friends" are not being nice to him. BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO RIGHT? whatever happens happens... well, he gets the chance to learn, to grow, to not be as incapacitated. but with that awareness comes realizing how mistreated youve been all your life. you never want to go back to being foolish, naive. for a while, it seems as if you might never have to go back to that state, but you soon learn you're destined for more misery.

Perhaps awareness isn't all its made out to be. maybe it truly is better to be blissfully unaware.
