DESIGNATION X-5: COWBOY CONFESSIONS

Following the release of Beyonce's album "Cowboy Carter" on March 29th, 2024, it was immediately surrounded in controversy -- from gatekeepers and racists in the country music industry, to the die-hard fans and racists that defended her. It quickly spiraled into a political, racial, and philosophical hellscape.

What tends to goes unnoticed, however, is that there is a bigger and more sinister element afoot -- one that ties all the way back to a rumor that began circulating in 2010. 

Enter Cathy Koreana White, known to her friends as Kori, or Coco. A Howard University graduate, contributor to various online publications, and CEO of her own firm, White Label PR. 

At this time, Jay-Z and Beyonce have been a power couple since 2001 and been married since 2008, and everything is going swell -- that is, until Jay-Z is spotted with Cathy White in a nightclub in Las Vegas, together with P Diddy and model Claudia Jordan, who was a known homewrecker at the time. 

The group was there to see the boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Jauna Manuel Marquez, but Beyonce's absence is notable and strange. Chaos unfolds as the publication  Hollywood Street King (HSK) speculates that Cathy is Jay-Z's mistress -- this is supported by Cathy's good friend Jason Lee, who says Jay-Z is "a good catch for her". Cathy has openly admitted that she "only messes with super rich guys", and that unless a man had a net worth of at least $50 million, she wouldn't pay him any attention.

Pair that with Claudia Jordan, who is known for sleeping with rich, married men, and it seems like a slam dunk.

Although, Claudia seems to have a different idea of what their friendship means -- she frequently trash-talks her, criticizing that even though she has "thousands of dollars worth of bags and shoes", she lives in a messy one-bedroom apartment. There may also be a hint of jealousy, as she's heard saying she "doesn't know how Kori pulls wealthier ballers than she does."

As soon as the HSK story broke, Cathy immediately deleted her Facebook and Twitter accounts. Claudia bombarded the publication's phones and email, but HGK doubled down, revealing a photo of (drunk) Claudia being taken from the club to a hospital after falling in the shower of her hotel room.

They also posted a third article revealing Jay had instructed Cathy to "bring a few friends" that evening, in order for them to "not appear as a couple". He requested this again later, when he took Cathy gambling at the Bellagio casino. He also reportedly bought her a $2500 pair of Louis Vuitton shoes to wear that evening.

Now, in August, enter Liz Crokin -- a journalist who formerly worked for Star Magazine. According to Liz, Cathy approached her because she wanted to publicly admit to, and end, her secret affair. Cathy also claimed to be pregnant with Jay-Z's child. 

Unfortunately, Cathy White was found dead in her Manhattan apartment on September 2nd, 2011. The cause of death was reported as an aneurism. She was 28 years old.

Just days after her death, Beyonce announced her pregnancy with Blue Ivy at the 2011 VMAs. Liz was immediately suspicious, as she speculated it would have been a massive PR nightmare for Cathy to release a tell-all at the same time as their carefully crafted pregnancy announcement. According to Liz, media outlets during that time were alleging that Claudia Jordan was "convinced an A-list rapper had her friend killed".

And while that was unfortunately the end of Cathy, that was not where suspicion and criticism of Bey and Jay ended. Scrutiny was soon brought to an interview on Australian TV in October, where Beyonce's baby bump appeared to... well, deflate. Fans posited she may have simply used a secret surrogate, as Beyonce had shared she previously miscarried. 

On January 7th, 2012, Blue Ivy Carter was born -- however, she wasn't the only baby born that day, and the parents of said babies furiously complained to the NYC hospital when the entire NICU was closed off. Media reports say Beyonce and Jay-Z paid $1 million to take over the floor, and their security guard blocked other parents from entering the NICU for several hours. The hospital of course denied the reports, stating that the celebrity couple "paid only the standard rate for an executive suite".

One new mother, Rozz Nash-Coulon, told The Associated Press: "Once they checked in there was high security everywhere; it looked like the president was on our floor. The hospital's security cameras were taped over. Internal windows from the hallways into the ward were blacked out."

Hospital spokeswoman Barbara Osborn confirmed that the security cameras were indeed taped over while the couple was transported, but declined to explain why they were taped.

Fast-forward to 2014, and the drama begins again -- Beyonce's sister, Solange Knowles, attacks Jay-Z in an elevator after the Met Gala, and the rumor is that the attack was due to cheating rumors involving Jay. The trio release a statement without any details, stating it was a private matter that was later resolved.
