Just bask in that

I'm questioning why I planned such a busy weekend after working a 50 hour week but I am having a good time so maybe I don't need to overthink it 😅.

I ran into that networking guy at another event and we ended up catching a bite together after, but not as a date, just platonic and I think he realized he didn't actually feel that way about me too.  Isn't it weird how people get an idea in their head and they just run with it?  He had built up a fantasy about me after one meeting and in one more meeting it was shattered.  That kind of thing really kills potential romance because nobody can live up to a fantasy.  I hope we can still be friends.

I also went to a talk about how to foster community among young adults with the challenges of the complex things they/we are dealing with these days.  One of the things that stood out to me was how validating it was to hear the words:

  1. You are not a detriment.
  2. You do not have to be ashamed of the trajectory your life has taken just because it didn't look the way the previous generation expected.
  3. You are not a late bloomer, you are right on time.
  4. You are not defective.
It almost brought me to tears, really.  Has anybody else ever felt that way or needed to hear these things?  I hope everyone out there knows they are significant, loved, and they are not alone.  If you are looking for community, so am I and so are others, and we can do it.

Afterwards I ran into an old friend I haven't seen in at least a year, and he gave me an amazing compliment that really encouraged me and asked if we could hang out more often.  I'm so looking forward to getting reacquainted with him and meeting his new wife.

Then some clouds came over and it started misting outside.  I'd had a headache all day, so it felt soooo good to just bask in that and let the mist fall on my face.  I was dancing and twirling around in it and getting soaked, and people were looking at me like I was crazy but truly they did not know what they were missing.
