A central figure, the place to be, the apex, the reason. What is "the point?"
I went to work today, and the point was to receive monetary incentive. The point of monetary incentive is to receive goods, and from there it begins to split. To pay bills, to get food, to live, essentially.
What is the central point of everything? Is there even a reason to think about things such as "the point?" Its something I think about a lot, and honestly I dont know if its always for good. Constantly searching for the point to something can begin to end in a spiral where you dont do anything, really.Β
Lets say I want to play a video game, after all its one of my favorite hobbies, as well as writing. Lets try to find this elusive "point" here: Well I play video games for entertainment. Entertainment exists because a part of my brain lights up due to evolution. This causes wasted time that could be spent learning, or writing, therefore the point is to waste life
Hell, lets go with learning! We mentioned that as better than entertainment, right? The point of learning is to be "better" right? To be brighter, to be left as a more enlightened person. Alright, so, these things exist because we as people have written information we find valuable, which already exist. Learning is inherently full of taking in already known information. Learning in itself, is yet another thing that the point is to waste life, just in a more socially acceptable way
Β Then is the point to create your own information? To make? Well you make to let out thoughts, to in some way communicate with others. You try to communicate thoughts to help people learn. You help people learn so therefore you may someday learn in return. Learning is a waste of life, because everything is a waste of time you could spend doing creating. Creating is a waste of life because you could spend that time doing something entertaining. Entertainment is a waste of life because you could spend that time learning.
Its an endless cycle of attempting to maximize time when you search for this ever elusive point, its driven many greater men and women than me insane. I myself may just have to accept ill never know the point, that the point may not even exist.
No, that doesn't feel right. I guess we all have to make our own points, eh? I like to consider myself intelligent, I think if I really tried I could find my own point.
So I ask, dear reader: What is your point? What do you strive for? Money, power, life, love, knowledge, or something in the technicolor rainbow in between?
I think the point is to make my own point, actually. To find something noteworthy, to make my own path in this endless game. Thats point enough, isnt it? Maybe somebody will find that a cop out after all this rambling, but it happens. I feel like theres something else in my life that is my point, but that, dear reader
Is a secret :p

The "point" is undefined and subjective, as proven by the very struggle to form its concept and give it a general word to act as a reference.
There are many with an intolerance for this ambiguity, with a compulsive need for everything to be defined ; these are people vulnerable to giving in to pseudoscience and religious zealotry.
Our skill at analysis is a useful tool for survival, but not so much for our happiness.
Alan Watts has some great talks on the subject.

I completely agree, dear reader. Its such a whispy idea, its nothing and everything and it just wastes time as one continues to think about it. I also think making ones own point, a meaning to your own life is an incredibly important thing to be happy. Not God, not aimless wandering, truly finding yourself and your own meaning

This is really interesting ngl since this is a new broad perspective of life
Like your perspective of "the point" is very open minded in a sense like it's something that make sense if you have been thinking in an a way like you have
To me the point is breathing I guess
I don't know if it would make sense but to me breathing is something you need in order to live when it comes to money, love or entertainment it all comes from the form of breathing
Money wouldn't have been financially handled by people, people wouldn't feel an adrenaline to love or entertainment wouldn't be presented to make people feel interested if they didn't know how to breath
It's sort of like only works if it's with robots where they don't need air to breath cause they're machines
With humans you need air to breath in order to function in life so to me the point is that to just breath ya know? Cause it isn't waste
And it's something I strive for at the very least
I hope what I'm saying makes sense but yeah
Interesting commentary ππ»

first of all dont worry, this is a very long paragraph friendly place haha: Discussion is the point! The way you followed the point down to breathing is actually really astute, being something i didnt really think of during the writing of this post, but something ive still thought of a lot. But I ask, dear reader: If the point of life is to be alive then why do we strive for anything? Thats what always tricks me with this answer. We as humans are made to strive for something, or brain strive for novelty and different things to truly make ourselves feel whole. But its a constant reminder of your aliveness, i know in my darkest moments that i remember just the steadyness of my breath, the air around me, and it helps ground me. The thing I wonder though is besides living, why do we constantly try to do different things? Is it just to fill time? I personally dont entirely think so. I still agree with everything I wrote, but I would also like to mention that always thinking in a mindset of affecting humanity is a really unhealthy mindset, and it came across as me saying "everything is pointless," when what I truly meant was "finding your own path is your point"
thank you for your reply, feedback is always welcome!

Hello I hope you are doing well and thanks for replying to me
When I was typing my replu I was mostly just thinking about an idea of what strives a person to keep on living in a logical sense I guess I was not really thinking too deep into it
Though I do understand your point a lot and in my opinion I guess I'd say the reason why people do different things and why people strive for things are all cause of
Attention
It's something which I think people desire no matter how much you deny it
I think when mixing curiosity with thoughts you just kind of want the attention to conclude to finding out the point then to the meaning of the point that impacts your life
Thats' my thoughts on it
I hope I made sense with what I meant
Thank you
