prism origins!!

In the Beginning, there was nothing. Only potential. This potential, the power of this Nothing, was Darkness. We call it "Primordial Darkness" or "True Darkness" for specificity. And Darkness was the Supreme force of the universe, ruling a lonely kingdom in perpetual solitude. Back in the time before even time existed.

But then, suddenly, like a flash. It all changed.

Call it what you want. The Big Bang, the Birth of God, a fluke of magic potential igniting. Suddenly, the universe was bright.

The light of Creation came into existence.

The Light of Creation brought with it a diversity of magic. As light is reflected through a prism, you begin to see colors. That is the true nature of all magic, you see. All colors on the spectrum of mana, originating from the light of Creation. To combat this, the Darkness of the before times spawned one school of magic. That is "antimagic" the counter to magic techniques.

From the light of creation, two great sorceresses emerged. Nyxus, who commanded the darkness, and Aurora who commanded the light. Their wishes infused the primordial energies with personality, and they became the guardians of this power. I can not speak on what happened to the light beings after this, but I will try to detail all I can about the Darkness.

buuut i can! hello, i'm vivian, the current incarnation of the avatar of light and the darling second coming of prince alef the second!

sadly, i don't remember much of history before my first life as the prince of light, but i can tell you what i know (and am willing to share out on the electric ocean teehee).

okie dokie, so bada bing boom it's about 10 years before my incarnation. the prophets of aurora receive a vision from her, predicting a great war battling against the dark world, which results in a catastrophic and unavoidable blast of darkness which will wipe out society as they know it. obviously, aurora's kinda shitting herself a bit because WOAH. THOSE ARE HER PEOPLE MAN. honestly i don't blame her thats terrifying but ANYWAYS

she goes ahead and creates a specialised species, the children of light! they are these little kids absolutely packed with light, somewhat disguised as aurora's people but with about 10x more light each, at least at first. 11 of them are created on the first run, and the avatar of light's soul is placed into one of them, which ended up creating the life that i currently remember! these kids are created and sent down into the light world, and their purpose is mostly to help the world recover post-calamity, which i honestly think is bittersweet but wholesome as hell.

more rounds of the little guys are created over time and live none the wiser, getting used to the world while the war is secretly fought before BOOOM!!!1 A HUGE EXPLOSION OCCURS!!! none of us actually knew wtf was going on at the time, not even me

fwshh... and boom most of the population is wiped out. yeouch! it's kinda like nuclear fallout except you also have these little guys runnign around who are almost immune to it unless they get hit with debris (i did. it really hurt. darkness infections are not pretty, even on me)

after this, my memories fall short for a long time. i've only recovered a few of them, and i doubt i want to see more. the amnesia happened for my own good.

from what i do remember, i was crowned the heir of the light kingdom, but.. it was not a kind life. i won't describe what happened, as it's extremely personal.. but around three to five years later i was unfortunately killed.

i reincarnated into the body of a wind fairy changeling almost three years ago and have been surviving and coping with my trauma, but i have begun truly living and embracing my magic for about two months.

i'm not sure about the other incarnations i received before this and my last, but i'm certain they existed to an extent. there are distant memories but i cannot piece anything together
