Topic: Paganizing Christianity?

>> (Introduction with the passage of Joshua 22:10-34)

>>Indeed, as relayed through the Apostle Peter and spoken by Christ Himself, the one who has put their hand to the plow must not faint at event the slightest mention of answering for the hope they live for, the transformation of mind brought forth by the renewal of the Sacrificial Lamb to relay a further passage of Scripture through the pen of the Apostle Paul. (1 Peter 3:15; Luke 9:62; Romans 12:1-2)

Thus, it has come to my attention a revival of questioning the motives of our meetings and our apparent gatherings as "Christian Goths." I do wonder if such a voice of concern returned to the spotlight after a certain individual and their interviews, however; in all matters shall Christ be reflected. (Matthew 5:16)

The clearest of concerns, shall I relate, for it encapsulates the others under this one linchpin of doubt. "Why the obsession with death?" And I suppose the lesser counterpart, the aesthetic being a cry of attention-starved souls. For an answer to either, that is up to the individual themselves.

For indeed, you can take on an appearance of righteousness, but have your heart far from God. (Matthew 15:8). You may concern yourself with preaching Christianity, but your heart is far from the Cross and its promise of death to self. (Matthew 16:24-26). And if I may, the concept of denouncing it all through the framing of an insult in "Christian Goth" is to mean it is a flavor of Christianity contrary to God Himself, which in itself is a lie, as there is no such truth in the idea of Christianity's "flavor," unless you mean man-made invention that has certainly prevailed the conscience of many. (Galatians 1:6-9) But, "He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4), bringing forth discernment, a dividing sword piercing bone and marrow, weeding out the spirit of error from the spirit of truth. (1 John 4:4-6; Hebrews 4:12).

Thus, you should be vigilant, it is a requirement of the Christian and of the soul. "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1). Yet, as evidenced in the passage of Joshua 22:10-34, what appears outside of the standard, a standard built on the basis of fallible humanity and their reasoning, a tower of Babel if you will, shall happen eventually in the midst of an effort of iron sharpening iron, though often it is proved to be rather an avenue for personal control over the masses as an attempt to become an idol in the minds of the people. (Philippians 1:15-17)

And indeed, such thinking pervades the minds of many, including those who claim a title of "Christian Goth." Yet, for us, as asked to provide an answer for the hope we live for, this is not the case. Before one is urged to claim the concept of us ignoring the Resurrection, has it not occurred the degradation of society, and not solely the fault of our hands, as it is claimed? It is the entropy of the human experience, as evidenced in the Bible of whom God ordained as His instruction to us of another avenue outside of this pool of blood humanity lies in. (Ezekiel 16:6-14)

The world is not to become beautiful anytime soon, but the fingerprints of God's beauty cannot be erased, only ignored by humanity in a prolonged effort of discovering and defining a universal standard of human fulfillment. (Romans 1:25) Such an accusation may be thrown at us, but it is far from so. A preacher may dress his service as a benevolent expression of Christ's love, but whose motives are as venomous as a snake's bite (2 Corinthians 11:13-15). God knows the heart, and the manner of testimony is revealed through the fruits they yield. (Psalm 7:9) To be sure, you may fool humanity for a while, perhaps even fool yourself into believing you have fooled God Himself, but He sees the inner places where you sacrifice to idols under every spreading tree. (Ezekiel 8:12)

Christ's Resurrection is not neglected here at our meetings. The significance of the Cross, however; the blood of Christ cannot be taken advantage of as seen throughout human history. It is not a glorification of death, but standing in awe of God Himself entering the human experience as a human itself, to become our perfect High Priest and Sacrificial Lamb. And you are to believe we are Satanic when the Bible itself speaks so reverently of blood? (Leviticus 17:11-12) This is not an exploration of vulgarity, though humanity shall consider the avenue of art, including Goth, as a means of doing so, but it is not a determining factor, but the intentions of the heart is, as displayed in today's passage of Joshua 22:10-34.

Here, the blood of Christ is not treated as a perfume of appeasement, but the harsh, bone-splitting act of selfless love to a humanity of walking dead. Such seriousness is not dulled at the sight of black clothing, nor an accent of red. It is not a cry for attention, though certainly, there are those too who dress in all white and are not too particularly keen on wholesome living outside of remaining in the human mind. (2 Timothy 3:5) Here, the idea of throwing away Christ's standard morality is not what is championed, but morality is not threatened at the sight of what is gloom to you.

I ask.

Who made the wings of a bat harmonize with the wind?
Who established the laws of sound that enable our song?
Who formed the skeleton upon which we marvel at how intimately the care put in keeping upright this fleshly shell encasing of the soul?

Certainly, there is a path of which not to trod, such things not to touch. You will not find occultism here, but how is our manner of art a perversion of the things of God and not a return to viewing His creation as intended?

And before one is to denounce this claim as evidence of calling evil good, Christ Himself was so harsh in His illustration of His sacrifice enough for people to call Him a demon. If He faced such accusation, so are we ready to be called as such, for Christianity is life found in the spilling of the Lamb's blood, the beauty in the midst of a terrorizing humanity. Is that evil? Is that to be called dark and wicked? (John 6:54)

I say again, look at the skeleton. When did humanity turn it into a symbol of death when it is such evidence of our Creator's mercies and love! Is that to be called evil? Is that to be called dark and wicked!

Test the spirits, but do not drown out those who truly proclaim His name in favor of the more welcoming appearance. For indeed, that more palatable dish may just be injected with more poison than you know what to do with, with a sickness that your own strength cannot overcome. (1 Peter 5:8; Psalm 91:3)

"For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground. He hath no form nor comeliness, and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him." (Isaiah 53:2).

"Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people." (Revelation 5:6-8).

We are not justifying humanity's evils, nor are we delighting in sin's darkness. We are not here to lure the generations away from goodness, but endure as a weathered lighthouse to Christ's standard of truth. The decision of Christ is between you and Him, not us. No human should be the deciding factor except yourself, you are responsible for that act of faith. Do not make us out to be gods, for we are merely proclaiming our testimony.

It is easy to ask another, where would you go if you died right now. But I ask an even stronger question. If God gives you years on this Earth, where will they be held? It is not an acceptance to Heaven, but in restoring the fractured fellowship between yourself and God. Are any of us to waste that in skimpy belief of do-nothings, awaiting for a pick-up shuttle to an expressway to Heaven? Yes, we have crossed from death to life, but apart of that requires a death to self.

I am sure this will not be the last of our defenses, but the loudest evidence is in our conduct of living, both here and in our personal lives behind closed doors, our private thoughts as well.

We will continue to hold these meetings, speak and pray, and in all of these acts praise the Resurrected Lamb whose blood is too precious to cast aside. His name is Christ.
