how do you become happy with ur work? ( help I'm in despair.

how do you find happiness within drawing? I hate drawing but I still want to keep doing it until I've made something that I can feel proud about, I can't help but try to draw what I think people online would want to see and not what I myself would like to draw, i don't even now what I like to draw anymore, what my favorite color is? every answer comes down to what I think other people would prefer to see,

I just wish I could do something for my own happiness and not for others, my life has no worth unless I have created something people will be dedicated to. so i can feel that my life has been acknowledged.

sorry if my advice isn't the greatest , but i think trying to distance yourself from the idea of only making stuff for other ppl is importnat . I KNOW that's kind of stupid to say because that's your like primary issue but i think the best way to start getting over this type of feeling is by trying to reconnect with things you enjoy , not just specifically drawing Maybe media of some sort, and just enjoying stuff and bringing it into your art by drawing it and stuff . U Need to realize that people Will like your art even if u draw it for yourself!!!! there will always b someone out there that enjoys it whether it's a close friend or some stranger on the internet >_< it's just important to try and keep ur head high as difficult as it may seem, and not 2 rush things..

i used 2 struggle really badly with horribly comparing myself to every artist i'd come across, whether they were my age or twice it , and it rly screwed over my mental health, and my confidence with my art and my want to post or evne draw for myself . it took long, but i didn't give up and slowly learned to understand that , by paying more attention to myself and what i enjoy and how i feel about it i will not only further myself from rly selfdeprecating thoughts about my creations , but also at the same time it helped me improve ^^

idk if this is any help, i wanted 2 share my thoughts... i rly hope u can pull through and learn to enjoy drawing!!!! it's an awesome hobby and i bet ur art is really awesome ^_^

If you keep treating drawing as a way to feel accomplished and only a way to create things others will appreciate and acknowledge, i hate to sound so blunt, but you'll never be happy making art or drawing... like it really sounds like you need to figure out things you like and enjoy before focusing on actually even creating things. Maybe watch some speedpaints, or look at art you've made a long time ago. Talk to people who knew you back then. Play some games you like.
Figure out what you like in shows or movies or games or even other people's art. MAybe try to revist what made you want to draw in the first place if you can remember.

Rediscovering your passion, figuring out things you enjoy distances from "what do I like to draw" and just "what do I like to see?" "what do I like about this drawing/game/movie?" you know?? figure out what makes you laugh or happy or have fun, and then slowly bring that into an art perspective. If you like a certain character, you like how someone draws eyes, maybe you see someone with a haircut irl you think is really cool... maybe clothes or fashion you like. Animals even! just stuff that you like looking at or being around, you know?

if you focus solely or too much on the "how can i be proud of this" "how can I be happy drawing" especially if you're too tied up in "how can i make something others appreciate" you'll never be able to just.. enjoy making it in the first place, let alone enjoy the finished product. A huge part of being happy with drawing is enjoying the process. Obviously making mistakes or things not working out will bum you out from time to time, trying new things and making something [even if it looks bad] should be *at worst* a little tedious, and at best fun or full of passion.

anyway sorry this was long, and i'm sorry you're not enjoying drawing right now. I hope something works out and you can enjoy it again. Good luck.

yeah! sometimes when i'm feeling extra burnt out [especially cause oof trying to do stuff through average burnout/being tired always leads to autistic burnout which means my whole life is affected instead of just things that require a lot of energy/time] I just try to go back to my roots of things I enjoy artistically.. and that usually involves watching TONS of art videos and anime haha.

again good luck!! and remember, Looking at things that make you happy or you go "wow that looks *so cool*!" is an important step in not only enjoying art but also a great way to improve your art cause once you figure out stuff you like again you can go "how can i draw something that looks like that??" and it eventually kind of starts falling into place (❁´◡`❁)
