Whenever I live on my own, I'll switch to cast iron

As I get older, I want to stray further away from using things made of plastics and other chemicals. Teflon and similar non-stick coatings are one of those things I don't want to use in the future. Whenever I get a job and enough money to move out on my own (which will be years from now), I plan on getting myself some new cookware. I plan on getting cast iron pans/skillets. Even with the non-stick pans my family has I still need to put butter of oil on the bottom or else food will stick to it. So much for "non-stick," huh?

Another change I've been hoping to make, and one I've already started to implement, is cutting plastic out of my wardrobe as much as possible. I've mainly been going with either 100% or around 75% cotton for my new clothes. I've still been wearing my other clothes until it's worn out or donating it so it doesn't immediately go to the landfill once I get new stuff. It sucks how much clothing is polyester.
I also do have/have gotten some stuff that's made of cellulose-based material (like rayon) which I do also plan on phasing out in the future. My main issue with it is the process in which it's made. Lots of chemicals are used.
I do plan on learning to make my own clothes in the future. I have a sewing machine, but it goes too fast for me to feel comfortable using it. I think the sensitivity of the foot pedal's broken.
