Makeup

Sometimes I feel like people are loosing empathy.

I was looking at more elegant makeup such as flower knows and gilding lily, and every time I look at those brands I get a little envious. They have such beautiful packaging and design work when it comes to their eyeshadow pallets and blushes. But I have more darker skin, I see people show off their collection and I get jealous. I want to wear the blush but since it’s a Chinese brand I can never wear their products.

When you say something about it people dickride for the company saying that since it’s a Chinese brand everything is gonna be made for a paler complexion. Which- yeah, i can’t argue with that, i just think we should allow people to feel upset that they can never wear such elegant makeup products. People just can’t understand that I’m allowed to feel envy on this topic.

I mean the west has plenty of great affordable makeup. But I mean come on- everything looks so stale (?) the packaging here looks so dead, and cheap, and it feels like no effort is being put in. Which admittedly there is no effort unless you buy from indie brands and even then you have to pay a lot of money. I want cute makeup packaging, it’s not fair I have to stick with brands that barely cater for my skin tone.

Besides for packaging, I hate that brand can’t release a cushion foundation for darker skin shades that has spf. I was talking to a friend about it and all she said was “get an empty cushion foundation package and add your own foundation with spf”. I mean- wtf I shouldn’t have to when she could literally go out buy that product at a store. You also shouldn’t take spf out of its original packaging because that can ruin your spf.

I want to have accessibility like how white people have it. I mean if western products don’t work for them, they literally buy foundation and other stuff from Asian companies. So there is always an alternative for them. That also comes with affordability, convenience, and flexibility. Where is that for me??? A black women??? And when you bring this up, people will literally say buy from Indian brands. Like- they also have the same beauty standards that East Asian go by????? So what’s my option??

I just want cute, accessibility makeup that work for me.

I hate being harsh, but life is NEVER fair. As unfair as this is, you're just going to have to accept yourself for who you are because wanting to have white skin when your genetics simply say no is an unrealistic wish that will lead you to misery.

Be grateful that your problem is a vanity problem. I'd do ANYTHING to have this be the biggest problem in my life.

I have an incurable condition called HS which completely DESTROYS your skin with scars and wounds. It's painful, awful and I get SO jealous of people who have normal-looking skin.

It's time to start seeing the forest for the trees and start growing up.

I never said I hated my skin. I just was saying that they should make cute elegant makeup for darker skin. As well has having makeup that’s more convenient with benefits like spf.

Don’t put words in my mouth, you took this rant to an and made a completely different meaning from the original point.
