cheese pairing + review (#2)

decided to pair cheese & have it for breakfast today ~ good afternoon , 14:00.

homemade sourdough / honeycrisp apple / lingonberry preserves / brie / mission figs / pomegranate / honey.

its very good and packed with so much nutrition! it really reminds me of back home in europe very strongly. i think.. the brie had quite nutty overtones which is far from what i was expecting (it was good! it would have been nice if i added some pecans to this plate..) & it went very well with the lingonberry, honey & bread. when eaten in one bite with the honey and pomegranate, it was very sweet, a bit overwhelming, (i don't like overly sweet foods that much) so i think its good with just honey or just pomegranate in this case.

the bread was very chewy with a very crunchy crust, the perfect texture to scoop up some of the inside of the brie with~ i ended up adding pesto & a bit of goat cheese once the fruit preserves were all gone & it was delicious.

the brie used is made of cows milk & was very creamy, it could have almost worked as a dip if the rind were removed - the rind was quite sweet and earthy, and was quite good on its own without honey, fruit etc.

in the end, i rate this 10/10. it was super fun to assemble and cutting the pomegranate was comforting. this meal is packed full of fiber & calcium, and i'd reccomend it for any fellow malnourished individuals..
