Romanda Builds Her Website, Part 1

Welcome to "Romanda builds her Website", the series where I, Romanda, build my website from its beginner-level HTML.

This Episode: Continuing the No, Really Archive and the Future

Check it out, I have a website if you haven't checked the link on my profile.
So somewhere around July I disconnected most of the website as I planned to revamp the whole place with better HTML and more intriguing graphics, but the site still existed... so what else to do while my No, Really fixation was still going on but to turn it into a FULL archive of everything NR online?

This plan didn't work out until tonight (the time that I am writing this), where I fixed the issue of the empty space that the page recreations were linking to. Well, just one page.

Ladies, gentlemen, none of the above, I present to you...

A RECONSTRUCTED VERSION OF NOREALLYROCK.COM'S INDEX2.HTML PAGE FROM 2006!

Is it perfect? No. I still have to add the remaining blogposts up to this point from the internet archive. Not only that, but 3 of the 7 photos on the wayback's archive are unknown, even with my usage of copy pasting the link of the flickrs and deviantart account. But it's the most alive No, Really's website has ever been since it got squatted on some 12 years ago.

I'm genuinely proud of this, because I really feel like I'm helping in preservation on the internet despite the total lack of interest from the larger internet for No, Really. Next, I'll be tackling index3.html and probably optimizing these pages for the modern age (aka sizing shit up). But this is a start!

Now I get to talk about the future of the rest of the site's revamp.

So along with this, I'm going to be figuring out how to execute my sketchbook ideas in an html form for the older pages of the site. I think I might've expected too much from my abilities, but I found a kickass html editor WITH LIVE PREVIEW, so I'll be fine with figuring out how to do some cool stuff. For now. And when that's all done, I'll probably move the archive to another neocities site so it doesn't clutter the real site so look out for that.

That's all for now, join me next time when I hopefully have more done and a progress update on the site revamp.

...

whenever that is.
