My 2 cents on the SpaceHey app

It's clear that they put a lot of effort into the look in feel of the app. Everything from the layout, to the app icon looks straight out of a old version of iOS.

But at the same time, it's something of a double-edged sword, in that some users' profiles, (like my friend, Sleepy_Mick's profile, for instance,) by no fault of their own, look out of out of place with the general app layout. My profile works well within the app, but that's because my other friend karokazu was inspired by the old YouTube app when she made it. Obviously, it's good thing for everyone's profiles to still have their respective looks, because profile customization is part this site's appeal, but I can't help but feel it makes the app look visualy disjointed. Just saying.

But that's not even my main issue with the SpaceHey app. My main issue is that, aside from messaging people, and looking at other folks' profiles, there isn't much to do. You can't make or access blogs, or the forums, or anything like that. You know, the stuff that makes this social media website a social media website. I know they have that app roadmap where people can vote on features that they want to come to the app, but I feel like a lot of those features should've been included at launch. It seems this app needed more time in the oven. I feel like, for the time being, you're better off using SpaceHey on a web browser if you want to use it on mobile, for the most part anyway. Heck, I'm writing this blog post on a web browser on my phone.

Here's hoping that the app gets better in the future.
