Is there a way to make layouts not lag my computer?

I can see with my task manager that if i open a page with a custom layout my cpu gets to a 100% and everything becomes extremely slow TwT And i would gladly not have my computer explode lol I heard that you can improve that by @importing the css from an external site like neocities but that doesn't really work for me either, strangely it only puts the crt effect over my site.
